Jordanscollected’s Hobby Farm

Thanks everyone we are excited and nervous and more excited.
@chrisjohnnick we are moving 30 miles north of our current residence. From the SW metro to the NW metro of the twin cities. We will be living in a town called Hanover.
-
Wow, huge congratulations!! A dream come true
-
@jordanscollected
congratulations what a great place to live !!
Seems this town has a german background as Hanover is the capital of Lower Saxony here in Germany . I bet there are a lot german family names there. -
These are the 2 little buggers we are bringing with us. Nola and Beau.
IHV-16 accidentally peeking through.
-
Damn that looks awesome. Congrats!!!
-
Congrats man!!!

Just read about your new farm. No neighbors calling the police when you are parking the boat on your own sidewalk and the horses in reach under 30 seconds. Absolutely great! @jordanscollected

@Daniel-San It is indeed named after Hanover, Germany. Funny enough, we bought the property but have yet to visit the town. It is ironic though that we are moving from one small river side town to another. and Carver, where we currently reside has doubled in population from 3500 to around 7000 in the last 10 years. Hanover has a population just under 4000 now so we are starting over.
@Aetas believe me that was one of our first thoughts re: our homeowners association and pesky neighbors. good riddance.
And yes, having the horses on site has always been the main goal. Allie is over the moon and it will provide us so much free time where we would have otherwise been driving.

This is incredible! Well done and congratulations!!

T-minus 4 weeks till we move in. Already as excited as it gets, the sellers sent us this pic of the sunrise over the barn this weekend.
-
Fuck me, that’s breathtaking
-
looks amazing there
-
Congrats on your new farm, living the dream for sure.
That photo is stunning, what a view -
A video from the sellers during a storm a week or so back. T-minus 2 weeks. we may have to enter this in some sort of competition.

I picked up my new side by side last weekend. I bought it gently used (only 44 miles on it) with the full cab and plow. I’ll use it to move snow, drag the pastures and driveway, and transporting hay and other items around the farm.
I’ve never plowed with a side by side before, so expect something stupid to happen.
Currently stored in my friends barn (it’s great having amazing friends).

If anyone is curious why I haven't bought any new clothes in a year (and for some reason I still have the energy to post my old stuff on here), it's because every time I turn around someone's hand is out asking me for $500... or $15k

My maternal grandfather taught me that the cost of living is 10% more than you earn......
