IHSH-62-ind - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Indigo

Brought a medium. I’m in between a large/ medium….. Lol. But sleeve and chest on the large too big (sleeve way too long), but maybe the shoulders on the medium too small. What’s a man to do? Still trying to shrink down my purple UHF. Here’s hoping. Thanks to Graham for advice.

So you have a medium on the way? You can get quite a bit of shrinkage out of wabash using fairly aggressive washing. You’d loose about 1-2cm in the length and arms that way. If the M doesn’t work then there are possibilities with the L.
Yep. Bit of a gamble, especially as Graham at IH suggested a large, but the medium ticked all my boxes bar the shoulders, and I’d need to lose an inch off both the chest and the sleeves with a large. I’m hoping the length on the arms will make up for the inch I’m losing in the shoulders.

For me that a dangerous move, I am large use to be a medium.. rather have bit bigger wash and size it

Thanks. Will see. Shrinkage apparently negligible with a cold wash.

@Richard I'm an XL in most IH shirting, and my XL wabash came in pretty big on me until i washed it, notably larger than my other 4 xl IH shirts.
I would be hopeful that your medium works out. time will tell

I was going to say they do come in quite big, good point. There also tends to be a trade off between shoulders and chest. If one is a little large, then a smaller than usual measurement the other place matters less.

Thanks @neph93 and @jordanscollected Fingers crossed.

Arrived today. Amazing shirt. An inch to spare in the P2P I think, so think the fit is good, but only cold washing. The large would surely swim on me. I guess Wabash softens up, right? Any stretch? Thanks in advance.

Excuse rubbish photos.

ThT looks fantastic Richard - I have found the wabash to tighten up a bit

Agreed this is the best fit. A good illustration of how a smaller shoulder can be mitigated by a wider chest. Sleeve and body length are great.
It won’t really stretch, it will soften, but only after a lot of wear and many washes. I wore my ‘68 over a number of years as an actual work shirt for doing actual work in. It ended up
incredibly soft, it does take time though.A 60C wash will give it about 1cm of shrinkage, a 30C wash won’t trouble it at all.
Well done, sir!

Got my shirt today!
This shirt is totaly amazing, but i´m not sure about the size…
I ordered the same size as mine Johnny Cash shirt.
The size on the wabash is slightly larger than the size on the Johnny Cash.
I ordered XXL...
The arms are a little bit to long and the shirt is a little bit longer as the johnny.
What do you think about this? Wash it the first time and hope it shrinks a little bit on the arms and the length?
Or sent it back for a XL?
The size around the belly is perfect. ::)
Thanks for your help. -

The size around the belly is perfect. ::)These will definitely shrink with a hot wash. Looking at your IHSH-218, if you are happy with the fit of that, I’d do a hot wash. Most of what you lose will come from the arms and length.
To be on the safe side I would thoroughly soak your shirt with the shower head then put it straight in the machine, inside out. Wash at 60C on very low spin.
I’ve actually washed Wabash at 90C to get all the shrinkage out. It is quite effective.
Before you do that, you can measure you 218 the IH way and use the compare function on the website, that way you’ll find out how close the XL is to your 218.
