Perfect decision.Good to hear. The wabash is fairly predictable like that and it is nice to have the option to dial your fit in with a wash. If you ever feel like you want more, a 90C wash will probably give you that and the wabash tolerates a hot wash without taking damage.

Took a photo for social media and figured I would share here. My wabash shirt arrived this afternoon. What a substantial friggin shirt. I had no idea how much my IHSH-110, which is also 12oz denim western, had softened up! Woo this thang is nice. This winter will be focused on breaking in this shirt and my IHJ-72.

That's a serious hand tattoo if I have ever seen one. @Oaktavia
Sweet outfit, and your house looks awesome. Like Little House on the Prairie or something.

Hah…I tend to get carried away sometimes. I tattooed the black on myself. Lots of bourbon involved.
Thanks...I have been eyeing a wabash shirt for sometime now. Love everything about it.
It is a historic home in downtown Frederick, Maryland. A lot of the old large houses have been divided into multiple smaller units and called "apartments". Duplexes cut four ways and additions built on the backsides. I'm just happy I got the unit with the porch.

Bourbon? I'll bet you bled like a stuck pig.

I always wear an undershirt, so I haven’t noticed. Makes total sense, though.

I always wear undershirts too…my westerns would get super smelly without them haha...but the thickness of the fabric inside the armpit I think just needs some breaking in. I'm still used to my super broken in IHSH-110 and was surprised how thick the IHSH-62 is.
-
Also- have any of you noticed a stiffness in the thicker armpit seam area when breaking in? I can pinch the fabric out from my pit and I do have room, its just borderline chafey…am I alone here?
It is a beast of a shirt so this sounds about right. This area sees a lot of movement so it will break in soon enough.

Cool, cool thanks @neph93

I've had mine for a couple years and it's relatively soft now. Never had any noticeable shrinkage with cold washing and line drying @Oaktavia.

Pardon the grumpy photos, but I have been slowly thinking that perhaps this XL is too small for me. I feel that it fits my arms perfectly, and the length, chest and pretty much everywhere seems fine, except the waist/belly. I understand that I have a beer gut with a mostly skinny build.
My question to you all fine folks is should I keep pressing this shirt and hope it continues to break in and eventually will feel less stiff and relax around my waist? Or to buy an XXL if I can find one and have a looser fit. If I can pull this one off I will keep wearing it but when I sit down I can feel the fabric battling with my gut. I also understand that exercise can help with this (as does my girlfriend, though she tells me the shirt looks fine). Any feedback would be helpful.

I'm in a similar situation as you, waist-wise, and I'd size up and then give the XXL a warm-ish wash. I think you could also do with a little extra length there.
