If you're worrying about streaks: a soak prior to washing them is inevitable.
Yes of course, good point. I give mine a thorough soaking with the shower head before washing. Works a treat.
yep, soaked thoroughly in cold water before washing…as it's the first wash, I'm not sure what I'm most worried about...it's bit of an unknown. Even if they shrink a tiny amount around the waist I know they'll stretch out.
I washed my 888s recently and though they'd shrink the tiniest bit. I stretched the waist out a bit while they were still wet as they had been snug. They are my best fitting pair now, and all my others fit great already!
I'm thinking there may be a few more visible fades and contrasts once the sbgs are done...that would be great

All good. Dry and fit great with a few contrasts. Few.

Great news! Enjoy wearing 'em!
Every time I worry about eventually machine washing any IH garment, it always turns out amazing, without fail….one of the many reasons I just keep coming back to the brand!
-
My pair became a bit too big so I hot soaked and machine washed it at 60° C, second soak/wash overall (first initial wash was at 30° C with almost no shrinkage). I was pretty surprised that now I've lost 1,77 inches in length ???. Didn't expect that at all. Luckily they were long enough but no more cuffing for me. I guess one should be very careful when machine washing the SBG denim at higher temps.
-
So, I got a pair and love them. They won't see too much wear for a bit, as 555-02s are currently in daily wear for a competition, but I won't mind having these stay solid black for awhile. I'm 6'0", low 150s, and I'm happy with these in 29.

these are without doubt the my favourite IH jeans that I own. I have waist size 36, which has stretched to about 37.5 as advertised.
None of the other 555s that I can see listed with either 36 or 38 inch waste have a similar actual measured waist size.
I really want the same fit in an indigo 21oz. Anyone got any experience of sizing? cheers ya'll

All 555 cuts are the same in terms of proportions, the differences will be marginal. At the same time these are small batch items, and you’ll struggle to find two exactly alike.
I have both the IH-555-01 and -03 in 34 and they are to all intents and purposes very similar except for a cm here and there. The 555-02 is a harder beast to judge because of the shrinkage. I have the IH-555N in 36 and this denim behaves differently to the 21oz, but is still a 555 cut.
I’d ask the crew to measure the waist of some IH-555-01 in tag 36 and/or 38, see what comes up.

thanks man. I have the IH-555N too, and like you, sized up, but to a 38. The waist is quite a bit wider (as you'd expect sizing up), as are the thigh and hem measurements, but I could quite pull off the 36, even with anticipated stretch. The denim is awesome on those 555N's though!
I'll have a look at 555-01s and see

I've got the 555-01 in a 36" waist and they've stretched out to pretty much a 38" Waist.
They are great pair of jeans, which I probably could size down but they are so comfortable and great on the bike.
Here's the link to a trade ad I put up with the sizing.
-
@bryaneidins70 thanks for the link to your measurements, they look pretty good for me.
My only concern for me, as a 44 year old with a midriff is that the front and rear rise on the 01s is about an inch lower than the 03s…I'd practically be showing the world my nuts!

Where you based?
if you don't mind paying for the postage, you can give them a try for a week or so?

Hi man, thanks, that is a very kind offer, and I really appreciate it. I'm visiting a store in London that has these in stock so I'll have chance to try them (didn't know that earlier!). the fades I've seen on these look awesome!

Oh no not only do these look amazing, but a tag size 26 looks like they’ll fit quite nice after a hot wash!!!
