There is a school of thought that says you should use a slightly smaller thread for the looper thread, so that it throws a neater loop, but we find the same size for both works fine.

Wow, even larger than I guessed.
I've had a couple of people tell me the same thing about using smaller thread in bobbins for flatbed machines, but my experience is like yours- same size for both works just fine.

I've been fixed. But Rob my engineer has told @Chesson not to attempt any more 25oz MBMF on me, I will break again. It is the second overdying process that happens to those MF's that make the denim too gnarly for me. @Giles is talking to H about whether they can hem in Japan.
Remember that they are hemmed in the factory before the OD process, so even H and co may have problems….
