hey guys!
here is some new info!
i own all three of the IHSH-11 superheavy flannels. they are my favorite rugged wear for sure. the thing is, i basically live in the red and blue one as my daily wear. the green one is for special occasions only and hence it is not in the daily rotational line up. i have been living the IH lifestyle since i got these.
over time , both the red and blue had started to show wear to the point i had to do something radical or prepare to wear the green one (noooooooo). the red one had wear thru the placard (right word use?)and thru one of the sleeves at the elbow , the blue one had placard wear and showed a hint of elbow wear.
i took the shirts to our local dry cleaners and had a talk with the seamstress about the shirts and their overall importance to me. i asked her to do it as heavy duty as possible. they have always done great work and this was just another case of a job well done. i had patches placed based on current and future use, both placard and elbows.
the IHSH-11 is a fantastic example of IH workmanship and this repair means hopefully the shirt will be worn in perpetuity, by myself .
yeah, sorry about the bed linen background.

I guess you could cut the thread of the pockets and sew them on the elbows
Maybe we should suggest chunks of fabric from Giles when we order dope shirtsI'll have to cross that bridge someday the way I wear my clothes too ;). That's the thing about Cali, you can wear flannels a lot more than in other parts of the country.

I think these were the '09 run? That's a lot of wear if your constantly wearing them.
