Our Cars (dream or actual)

Looks beautiful! Congrats on the work @Soleamp !

Friggin super envious of that setup. It would be perfect out here in Colorado. Good job!

@motojobobo and @mclaincausey Thanks, much appreciated! I'm actually selling it because I have three kids that are still in school and it's not really practical for a family. I more did it just to see if I could. I do love the vans though, I drive a Sprinter as my daily driver, haha.
This would indeed make an awesome Colorado rig. We are big skiers and this would be amazing to have when they are forecasting those big storms. Camp out somewhere and wait for the powder!

@sabergirl Thanks so much! It's not too hard to do those types of trips these days as you can now rent vans/RVs all over the world. It's a great experience and we have done many long road trips with our kids. A few years ago we did over 6k miles (that was a lot of driving).

Recently changed cars. We got a Diesel Hybrid Merc E class estate. Thing goes like shit of a shovel.
will thoroughly miss the 140i. but this will have plenty of torque low down I bet. loads of fun can be had at 2-4k rpm..

hahaha I see you're still having fond memories of a rwd hatch.

I'm tempted to go for an electric car next time, but Australia is somewhat behind the rest of the world for various reasons. The charging infrastructure isn't great, distances tend to be long, and there are relatively few models available.
A local website / YouTube channel decided to compare the travel time of a Hyundai Ioniq 5 with a Hyundai Tucson between Sydney and Melbourne, a distance of about 900 km or 560 miles. It's a straightforward run down the Hume Highway.
The Tucson made it down first, because it didn't have to make recharging stops, but only beat the Ioniq by about forty minutes on a nine hour run. So an EV would appear to be practical for long distance travel, even in a somewhat backward country like Australia.
OK, you might struggle to find one for sale, since no-one seems to be bringing them here right now!

Alternatively, I could be sensible and get the new Morgan Super 3 instead…
Unfortunately the Morgan EV3 never happened, though an electric version of the new model sounds like a possibility.

Morgan for sure @Graeme

I bought my car almost 11 years ago. I know absolutely nothing about cars. Ultimately, I was just looking for something reliable. Last week I hit 375,000 miles. Hoping to make it to 400,000 and beyond…

Well, c’mon. Tell us what it is. Reliable trumps style for cars in my book.

hey @Bfd70 i drive a volvo xc90. I’ve done the routine maintenance on the vehicle, at the recommended mileage intervals. Thankfully, no major issues along the way. Just the normal wear ‘n tear. ‘Knock on wood’ I don’t have any in the future but I probably just jinxed it.

Nice, I was looking at a very similar car this week, was a C class though. I'm yet to pull the trigger though as I would really like the equivalent Jag!

Sold my AMG for a Lexus NX 450h+ (PHEV) very lucky to get it. Two-year wait here.
Here it is parked beside my FJ.
