The 2014 FIFA World Cup

and my condolences @babyknight …"your" brazilians just got raped...hard! live on tv that the whole world could see! almost wanted to call the cops to tell them what's going on over there. daaaaaaamn
ha, thanks but I'm English and your condolences are several weeks late for my team! that said, I was obviously very much into following the Brazil team here during the WC and today was just a surreal experience. the streets in Sao Paulo are deathly quiet. I am wondering what comes next…

Germany showed us The Beautiful Game. Brazil has been practicing, as I mentioned, a brand of football that I find very cheap and that demeans the game. It featured outstanding individual talent that was unmeshed and spent a lot of time play acting instead of playing.
I feel bad for the people of the nation, particularly since their government blew $14 billion it couldn't ethically afford on the Cup.

You could almost feel sorry for the brazilian Team regarding the highest expectations of the fans and the pressure going on there. Not to speak of said immense costs and all the other bad stuff that happened beforehand. Will be interesting to see the reactions when the shock has been realized.

I don't feel bad for anyone. It's a game - sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, no-one has a divine right to win and as a nation Brazil has to accept that and get over it. I say that as an England fan so I am used to abject misery and an endless string of abysmal displays. Bizarrely there was a huge amount of expectation that England would win things until comparatively recently, but that finally seems to have disappeared with this year's shot of reality. I like it when favourites lose, although Germany were hardly an underdog here! I have to support those perennial bridesmaids, the Dutch now.

Tonight depends on two people, Messi and Robben.

Really looking forward to the game today. I've been a fan of both the Netherlands and Argentina for quite a while. I was hoping for a Brazil Argentina final, but now I really just want great match. I really hope it's not lopsided like yesterday. 3-2 would be perfect if the soccer gods could oblige.

Tense game, both cancelling each other out so far.
-
I can barely watch this.. I would almost rather turn the tv set off and turn it back on once it's decided.
-
No Tim Krul, no penalty win. Good luck Argentina, I have a feeling they're going to need it.
-
Intense. I'm glad they were saves rather than off frame. I think that Argentina will play up to the German's level. Sunday can't come soon enough.
-
I'm just glad that two teams that play the game after in the final.

LOL, that's exactly what I did!
And I was sorry the Netherlands lost, especially on penalties - such a shame.
