I can't believe this, but I found a size of these at Volls.de on closeout in Germany. I'm so excited! My favorite cut in my favorite denim, and on sale.
My original pair got well worn, and were a 36w. Between washing and working out the thighs got too tight and I retired them. I'd longingly look at them from time to time. Then I thought maybe selfedge had a pair still and off of that search I found these. If anyone has a 38w that isn't getting used, I'd gladly take them off your hands.
I just bought 555-02's and haven't worn them much since I discovered these… I need more legs.

I scored these 666 UHR from eBay and they came in the mail today. I wanted to try out a looser cut. I love how cozy they are and the denim is amazing. I'm all about the thicc cuffs and plan to rock these similar to @swiss-jeansfreak and @Filthy with their big cuffs and looser fits.

Hey those will go well with the sticker I sent.

Ayyyeee thsoe big cuffs go great with this cut & your style, man!

You lucky dog @Oaktavia! Total grail pair. The 666 looks terrific on you.

gotta agree with the other folks @Oaktavia –this is a good cut on you.
I totally lucked out going with the 666 cut as my first and only (so far ) pair and love the way they drape.
they are just coming up on one year this month...will post pics soon enough.
nice cop -
@Oaktavia Wow great fit indeed and awesome plan to rock them the hardcore way.
I can‘t wait to see them 800 wear days later -
@swiss-jeansfreak I am so happy to see you back here again! I sincerely hope all is well with you!

Thanks a lot @Filthy
It‘s just such a shame that I‘m always too low on time to partizipate more on this forum!!!!
I need a second raw denim life!!!! -
FWIW, I think you’d be making a mistake messing with the fit on those. Do you know if they’ve ever seen water? UHR shrinks a ton.

I hot washed them and threw them into the dryer when I got them to see if there was any shrink left. It looked like they had been soaked before on account of the leg twist. They are still quite large in the waist and bunch up a bit in random areas around my waist.
I appreciate the feedback, do you think it would be better to keep them as they are and rock them big? I can pull them over my waist without unbuttoning them…Also, do you mean it would be a mistake to mess with resizing and the fit? Maybe just a resize to 2" down would be better and no taper? Or would messing with them in the first place be a bad idea? If you can't tell, I'm new to this idea...
I'm open for both options, and wanted to run it by folks before I did anything drastic.. @neph93 what are your thoughts on resizing?

To me the waist is one thing and the taper is another. Getting them to fit in the waist is likely to make you want to wear them more. The changes will not be super visible, given that the area is often covered by shirt or jacket. Editing the leg shape is likely to disrupt the proportions, which were carefully designed. Years ago I tapered three pairs of good denim and ended up disliking everyone of them. Wouldn’t ever do it again. That being said, all this is super subjective. If there’s any way of pinning to see how it feels and looks before cutting any fabric, that’s probably a sensible idea. Even taking in the waist is risky because then the hips might balloon. Dialling in fit can be tricky, but I also like the idea of how a new shape takes some aesthetic adjustment on our part to being to understand why certain pieces are designed the way they are. I’ve enjoyed that learning process, even if it had caused some items to not work out as much as I try. In the end it’s a weirdly unique body that has to fill these things out!

I think they look good big. I’ve rarely ever heard of good results from drastic alterations to heavy denim. It’s a gamble.

Thank you for the insight…this is why I love this forum. Straight answers from intelligent denim peeps. Your suggestions, as well as @Nkwkfld 's statements make me think keeping them big as they are is fine.
Which leads me to my next question: is wearing heavy denim oversized (in the waist) necessarily a bad thing? Especially if the rest of the cut is working?
