Hats and Beanies

Feels good very quickly after I bent the bill into a slight curve like I usually do veloaudio.
No close up pics yet however it did manage to make it into one of my recent photos:

Not many of you guys seem to be into flat /ivy / newsboy / driver caps. Scalawags and Brixton are my two favourite brands so far.

For those of you who've gotten the Poten caps from SE, what size did you get? I love that red one but I have an annoyingly huge Irish head. I figure the L might be alright but I'm not sure.

Hey PV/ATX. I am a 7 3/8(S) in Poten and also a 7 3/8 in Ebbets Field Flannel caps.
My actual head measurement says I should be a 7 1/4 but this size is too tight in both Poten and Ebbets. I like a looser fit and can't tolerate a tight fitting cap.
Hope it helps.

I'm a fan. I have quite a few including at least one Brixton. Stetson make some good ones and Bugatti are a favourite as well. The latter appear to be an old man's brand who don't seem to have cottoned on to the fact that younger folks have adopted this kind of headwear. Really well made, great materials but a conservative style…
Me in my Brixton...

Thank you! That does indeed help quite a bit. I've got a 7 3/4 Ebbets hat that fits comfortably on me but just a tad too big, so I'm guessing that the 7 5/8 L Poten will work… fingers crossed!
Again, much appreciated

Glad to help! I was wondering what the red might look like in real life. Thats the only one I dont have.

A few years ago I wanted a Mister Freedom Greaser Hat, but I think that they were sold out by about the time I found them. However, the Biltbuck Biker Casque which I found in Lieutenant & Co is pretty close.
The cap is made out of a dark brown to black horsehide, which looks like it's on a brown base. I'm hoping that it's a teacore finish. It's unlined, unlike the Mister Freedom one, and the stitching is different, but I prefer this one.
Now I just need to abuse it over the antipodean winter to knock some of the shine off it, and keep it away from @neph93's hands if I make it to the Forum Party in September.

Looks good on you @Graeme. I have tried similar caps on but I have too much of a baby face to pull it off.
I like the look of the Poten caps but hate leather hatbands. They always stick to my forehead something terrible.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wearing my Otis James indigo canvas Padre today. I’m really hoping to put some wear on it this summer, I’m guessing it will fade nicely.
If you dont know Otis he’s a one man band cap maker near Chattanooga. I have met him several times in Nashville and a more humble, kind, and skilled hat maker I’ve yet to meet.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks @Anesthetist. The cap can get quite sweaty, so I'm having a similar problem to you. I think that it needs some ventilation holes in it, or avoid wearing it in hot weather.
The Otis cap looks really good.

I’m off to Morocco with work in a few weeks. I’m white (my Nan’s Welsh, so think fair) and bald. I’m going to be predominantly outside for best part of 18 days.
Hat suggestions please…

As you’re likely to be tangling with heat as well as sun, I would go with some hiking and/or fishing outdoor boonie hat. I am going to be no help with brand for this, but if I were you I’d be looking a moisture-wicking/ fast-drying tech wear, not heavy cotton.
