I meant the absence of Photofuckit pictures as it's not free anymore. The new forum layout is great and easy to navigate.
My sentiments entirely.

Yep, they've done a great job of screwing the DWC judging too
-
yeah. i'm absolutely pissed at them. for many years, they've been my go to for sharing images. they're still free to use and upload, but what's the point when you can't share them on message board you dimwits?!?! i've got a few years of photos on there i believe and none of them will be shown on any message boards and i'll look stupid
-
It's going to very difficult. The integrity of the Forum (and 1000's of other places like this) will be completely screwed up.
If they don't reverse the decision, at least for images posted prior to when some fuckwit decided that this was a good thing to do, then I'll rest easy knowing that every time anyone using the web see's this, they will hate photofukkit even more….

as annoying as this will come across. I've been waiting for photobucket to pull this stunt for sometime., seemed like their hosting costs would be out of control, and this is one way to pull it in, especially once you've got people's photos - they're over a barrel then. It's why for all the years of photos I have here, I've used flickr, google, tumblr, or even something of my own and direct linked to the image. Always been a bit of a pain to link the images, but being in a situation where my images wouldn't be held hostage was worth the price for me.
I suspected 5-10% of people will pay photobucket and they'll make a ton of cash from it as a result…
-
Yeah I've always used imgur.
-
I've always felt it was a pain in the arse to use Phtobucket and couldn't understand why people still went for it. There were always better, faster and more reliable options out there. The best option is when the forum hosts its own images so it's not dependent on other sites - like it does now.

photobucket has been an ease to use ever since i've been using it since 2010/2011. the only thing of recent times that has been bothering me is the ads and slower user interface. for me, when something i use is going well, i would not bother to change my routine.
they also have an iphone app that makes it even more easier to use as i can upload straight from my phone and link it from the website on my computer. all the photos i take bypass my phone too (6D, Drift 4k). i know back in the day, they used to disable the 3rd party hosting after you get X amount of views which sounds fair, but holding you hostage right now by only allowing people to pay seems a tad too much..

Alternatives (apart from the super duper very amazing - but only any use on this forum Iron Heart Image Uploader)…

Couldn't agree more

Reminds me of a story:
A man walks down the street and sees a fruit stand selling apples for $50 a piece. The man says "At $50, you're not going to sell many apples!"
The owner of the stand looks up and smiles at him "At $50 an apple, I won't have to!"

The G20 summit happens 1km away from my home and I'm already fed up with hundres of policemen securing/blocking the streets, helicopters flying day and night and protesters calling to arms. Why can't they do it on a secured Military base instead of going to a Metropole that's known for having a huge ultra leftwing scene?

Because clearing foreign nationals from all around the world to access a military base is far more of a headache than one could imagine…
BUT, I feel what you're saying!

Yeah, probably. I'd be happy with any kind of quiet area, but Holding the summit literally in the most leftwing quarter of a City is just plain stupid.
