The Real McCoys

@champ cool pair!!!

The Real McCoy's store in Covent Garden opened a few weeks after I left London, so I took the opportunity of being in town to take a look.
This is the Joe McCoy Oklahoma, which is a 1930s style half belt jacket made from deerskin. It was a little short and tight, though it looks good in the photo.
Incidentally, the guy you can see in the background of the photo is another IH fan, from Fleet. He said that he's been down to see @Giles and @Madame Buttonfly in Gosport to buy his gear.
I'm not sure what contract this A2 was, it might have even been a generic RMC style.
This is a replica of the Security Aviation Togs A2. It was the first version of the jacket, and has buttons rather than snaps on the pockets. I've got a deposit down with Good Wear, and was considering getting JC's version of this.

Hey, nice to see you @Graeme - how long are you around for? I recognise the guy in the background, I think he maybe came to Fish'n'Chips one year… oh my memory is so awful!

@Madame:
Hey, nice to see you @Graeme - how long are you around for?
I'm in the UK until the end of November. My brother's getting married tomorrow, which prompted the trip back.
I'll have to get down to Gosport sometime in the next month or so.
That Joe McCoy Oklahoma jacket is one of my favorite half belt designs.
But I think they only made it up to size 44 so sadly too small for me.I have the same problem. It was just a bit tight on me.

Does anyone have (or know where I can find) a pic of a faded RMC Overdyed M65?
-
^Have you asked the RMC UK store?
-
^^ I just did, thanks for the idea.

Hey all, so I was looking for a piece to add to my IHJ-54 that would allow me to wear it during the colder months. This thing is warm, but given the fit, its not big enough to really layer underneath and can leave me a big chilly when it gets really cold. So I was looking at a vest I would wear over the jacket, but then I could also wear as a solo piece over my UHFs. I have tried to find an IH deck vest in my size, but they are pretty much gone for the season.
So I came across this leather vest by the real mccoy. Its deerskin and I really like the look of it. However, its got a pretty high price tag so I am wondering if any of you have had experience with this one. Unfortunately none are available in the US so I can't get my hands on one to inspect first hand. I am currently waiting the RMC London to email me the measurements of the 44 as they are not listed on their site.
Anyone had any experience with this piece?
Here is a pic:
I think the black of the vest would really match the color of my 54 as sam's black tee looks really nice in the pic:

I've had such a vest for 3 years now. One of my favourite pieces as there's nothing quite as lush as deerskin leather. Pretty warm as well. For reference, I wear a 42 and I'm typically a XL in IH shirts.
Well worth the investment imo as it's a piece you'll wear for many years…

@FurattoHeddo Thanks for the info. I saw some of your pics earlier in the thread.
I went with the black cause thats what they have in my size. From the pics it looks really dark and I anticipate it going with pretty much everything.
I ended up pulling the trigger on it after talking with them. I appreciate your sizing information too, I am an XXL in IH gear so I went with the 44….I am assuming this will likely replace the couple vests I have floating around.
Worst comes to worst, it doesn't work out and I return it, which I am glad they have a no hassle return policy...looking forward to seeing this in the flesh!
Thanks again mate.

I tried on that black 42 and 44 vest over my XL IHJ-35 at RMC Osaka. It's a really nice vest. If you have an XXL IHJ-54 it may be a snug fit wearing a 44 vest over over the leathers. The size 42 worked but gave me a pretty good 'hug' while wearing over the jacket. My wife and the shop employees thought 44 best over the jacket, 42 best stand alone.
edit: sorry, I typed up the response before you purchased the 44. I wanted to add that I liked the fit of the 42 for all around use (over jacket/stand alone), so I think the same for a 44 in your case. Not to worry!
