@Appfaff what boots are you wearing?
-
IHxViberg Service boots in Navy Leather - I was kindly given them by @joesaintjohn and have worn them at least 5 days since receiving them in October.
I believe it’s Navy CXL, but I could be wrong. It’s cool because they have the IH stamp in the heel.
I’ll post some update photos in the Viberg thread

With the red Dainite soles, right? Yeah, those are CXL. I had the same ones for a while; I liked Joe's so much, I had Giles do a pair for me, too.

Those are them @Chris [emoji2]

Only 4 days into the new 14oz 777s and already showing a lot of promise.
The denim is starting to show some fading at the knees, and the crispy material is allowing some very sharp combs and whiskers to set in. I expect at 30 days, these will have a lot going on. I’m trying to wear them exclusively, at least for a month or two, so we will see how that goes

Looks like the waist has stretched considerably too? How much stretch have you gotten so far?
-
@manufc10 - The waist has probably stretched a bit, as have the thighs and hips, but I wanted to give it a good 15 to 20 wears before I measure so I can make a reasonable claim.
The denim has a lot of springiness to it. I find that certain IH materials have that trait. Ex: Every time I put them on, I feel like they are kinda snug, but after 10 minutes, they are more than comfortable. I had this same experience with the 17oz Natural Indigo jeans - I felt like that stretched, but also kinda spring back to original shape size, even after multiple days of wearing them.
Hope that helps

@neph93 - I absolutely love it. If you like the 301, it's a more refined version IMHO. The thighs are easily accommodating due to the knee not being aggressively snug, and the top block, although lo on the rise, fits comfortably, and stays put. I will go so far as saying they are my favorite cut ATM - seriously contemplating adding the XHS or OD versions in the foreseeable future, but I need to cool it a bit for a few months.

I hear you
Thanks for the write up. I really need to try a pair but I'm very concerned about the rise (as I've mentioned numerous times on here). Probably over-estimating the issue though.
No you're not IMO. The rise is dangerously low on these and I usually have to size up on this cut.

^ Could not word it better @sabergirl !

Odd… I consider myself to relatively endowed in the derrière department and the rise isn’t really any more of an issue than on any other dry denim - if anything they stay up On me way better than my 634 or 8301s do.

My skinny ass on the other hand… totally the opposite problem.

It's not so much a matter of staying up per se but a matter of providing complete coverage on my backside, especially when bending over (plumbers crack anyone?). They by far have the lowest rise of any other IH cut I've owned. However, with that being said if I get the size right it is a great cut with a flattering fit. Its just a matter of finding them with a bigger thigh and just enough rise.
-
Oddly the 777 rise is less of an issue for those of us with a generous booty, hips and thighs. They seem to stay in place and reveal much less butt cleavage than on the waifs out there.
-
yeah that's just not the case for me lol…and don't understand that logic either. I've got all three of those from never skipping leg days and the rise is just barely tall enough to cover the booty. Maybe it's an issue of how long or tall one's posterior is from a vertical stand point? lol..I don't know but I've spent way too much time discussing the booty coverage a pair of men's jeans provides.
