I'm sure the colour is painted/stained on the edges only. Question is how deep that penetrates the midsole. If it's just on the surface then a bit of sandpaper and you're done. If it stains a millimetre or two into the leather then you'll fuck up the midsole getting it off is my guess. Hope it's the former.

It's just edge dyed, not all the way through. You should be able to remove the black on the surface.
I've done this with my Wesco Boss boots. True story. Sandpaper bro. @pillowPANTS

Got the Boss anyway. Sanded the black midsole down to natural (as best i could). Not super easy, took a couple hours
11.5D seems to be my size. Instep fits snug, but heels are slipping a bit. Pretty sure ive got atleast one blister from wearing them today [emoji22]

So….the question now is....how many SQ FT do you need to make a pair of boss boots?
At least 12 sq feet of usable leather!
So 4-6 shells, depending on size and useable percentage? No wonder shell boots are so pricy. That's a lot of material cost.

@den213:
Great job, they're looking boss ;)!
Lol, clever. Thanks man!
Now, what leather is used on a stock Boss?

Ok. Thanks G and Neph. BTW Giles you were correct in suggesting 11.5 months back. Thanks[emoji1303]
Got some blisters on both heels tho [emoji1304]
Hopefully that wont happen for too long. Any suggestions to avoid it? -
@pillowPANTS Mole Skin from your local drugstore should help with blisters. You can also put duct tape over your heel, if you can't find mole skin.

Ok ill look. For now i put on some blister bandages. Hopefully after they break in they will bend with me and not have my heel slip out.
Should i put the Wesco supplied oil on them now, or wait till they get worn in a bit? -
Ok
