It just depends on what you’re looking for. Sure, it’s pulp. So what?
-
@mclaincausey I'm being an a-hole simply to be an a-hole. I love the show too.
-
I mean you’re not wrong. You know what’s coming and the dialogue is a low-rent action film.
-
I'd like to think that Reacher is intentionally being low-rent / b-roll in some areas with respect to its dialog and plot. Personally, it has a somewhat endearing quality to it that works with the show and acting. Also enjoy this and being able to completely shut off the brain for a bit and enjoy ridiculous things.
On the flip side, anyone do Bosch? Really enjoyed the original series and also the latest reboot of Legacy.
-
i like Bosch a lot, haven't seen legacy, so will take it as a recommendation
-
Bosch was a great show that didn't get the respect it deserved. I liked Legacy season 1 but season 2 got a bit over the top for me.

I feel like this is the John Wick principle, and I've definitely got room for it. I need to check out Reacher.
-
I've read articles about Reacher that explain that it's target audience is 30 and 40 something dads that love the action star save the day save the girl cheesy one liner turn off the brain nonsense. That explains Reacher perfectly.
-
Just watched Fool Me Once twice in 36 hours. Obviously, I really enjoyed it the first time around, but I watched it a second time to see if I could spot clues as to what was going to happen that I had missed with the first viewing. Not sure that I did, but I really loved it the second time around, I watched it from a completely different perspective and found it just as compelling. Oh, and Michelle Keegan is pretty easy on the eye.....

I feel personally attacked

Been enjoying season 5 of Fargo. Nice rebound from the past couple seasons
-
@flannel-slut We recently binged seasons 1 and 2 and are taking a break. Do you think we need to watch seasons 3 & 4 before watching 5? How is Juno Temple?
-
@Jett129 nice, seasons 1 and 2 make for some good binging. 3 and 4 are stand-alones and personally felt a little flat. As for Juno Temple? If you’re a fan, then just skip to season 5.
-
I’ve enjoyed each season of Fargo but this one so far is back to the level of excellence of the first couple of seasons.
-
Holy crap finished Fargo season 5. Only a couple of things I would change but what an amazing season. Some of my favorite characters yet.
-
Season 5 was a great ride. The cast was brilliant, in particular Jennifer Jason Leigh and Sam Spruell
-
This one is a bit dated but anyone watch the Netflix original, Dark?
If not, and you’re up for a dystopian, time traveling sci-fi… Holy. Shit. Look no further. -
We did it with subtitles. Dubbings definitely can be brutal, especially when a characters voice over is not a good match or when the voice over is monotone during an intense scene.
-
@flannel-slut With my Rock n Roll ears I watch everything with subtitles. The only time it sucks is when you’re watching stand up comedy and the subtitles display the punchline before the comedian says it.
