PIH5DCT - 25oz Indigo/Indigo Selvedge Denim Tapered Cut
-
I'm not sure if this will be of any help but I've found this denim to be similar to the 21oz denim in terms of ease of break in and the amount it stretches. The only other 25oz denim I have is the XHS,and so far breaking in these has been a piece of cake compared to those. Maybe some others can chime in with their impressions. Mine are a tag size 36. if you like I can measure and see how much they've stretched.Like i said not sure if this helps.

I would say just by comparison without measuring, the 633Sii waist is smaller than DCT and the thigh is slightly bigger. Not By much tho. I took pre soak pictures of my 38s in this thread. I'm pretty certain I will have plenty of room in the top block even after a hot soak

Thanks. I was worried the thigh would be too small in the DCT size 38. But then again this is all speculation. I guess we will just to have to wait and see when they get here. Hopefully the 38 doesn't sell, should I need it. If so off to Rail Car, they go.

Hasn't Rail Car stopped working on anything over 21 oz?
-
No, not that I know of. They worked on my IHxSExLSxA13, which are 23oz.

Guys,
Are you accountant, you love Excel!!
Anyway. If the thigh is too tight then you may find the jeans too uncomfortable to enjoy.
However if the thigh is fine and the top block and waist have the space then warm soak them, you might then get closer to the fit you are after? -

@Brock
Could you measure the thigh of the PIH5DCTs? You have hot soaked them, correct? Thanks. -

Tfw you are refreshing the thread every hour hoping that Giles gets a couple more

I'm a bit confused by the cuts on the DCT/DCS. As I understand it, the DCS is the 666 cut, and the DCT is a tapered cut proprietary to Pronto. Earlier in DCT/DCS thread, it was asked, and replied that the DCT is the slimmer of the two. Comparing measurements for size 34, the DCT has larger thighs thigh and smaller knee & hem. Is this accurate? Does the DCT have more room in the thigh than the DCS? What about the top block/hips? I can't really do the 666 cut, as it's too tight in the thigh and top block, and sizing up gives a too large waist. Hence, I've been drawn to the DCT.
-
^ your problem may be the taper in the thigh. The tapered cut might be roomier that the slim straight at the top of the thigh where it's measured but the tapered cut gets slimmer quicker between upper thigh and knee.
By way of an example, I can do a 12.8" thigh in the 666 but the same thigh in the 555 is a no-go for me as the mid/lower thigh gives me sausage legs.

The biggest ??? with these seems to be whether or not to soak them. With my Iron Heart / Selfedge 301s-SEXIH13 23oz collaborations (www.instagram.com/wabisabifades), I chose not to let them touch any water until 1 year, and I feel the fades speak for themselves. But these were rinsed, not unwashed, like the Pronto's we're discussing. My gut is to do the same, but, then again, I also had to invest in a pretty costly overhaul repair job with Indigo Proof…Guess we'll see how much room I have when I try them on for the first time...
-
I will definitely be soaking these, first thing! Prolonging the life of the jeans is way more important than fades, imo.

Soaked mine cold for about 30 minutes over the weekend. They fit the same as before, no real change although I didn't measure before of after. I wanted to make sure the jeans would be stronger. These are the most expensive jeans I've ever bought so I was a little paranoid, for the better hopefully.

Agreed. This right here. Plus I don't think soaking them once in the beginning is really going to affect the fades that much.
-
A lot of room in the waist as I expected but overall I like the fit. The thigh is spot on with a little room. Im going to soak them and then the fit should be good!

I'm glad they're going to work out for you man! Great buy

These are gonna be tight! But I'm going for it, as I'm afraid going up to 38 will be too much in the waist, knee, and hem. Here's some pre-soak fit pics: Into the drink they go!
The denim on these is gorgeous! What a special pair. I wish I had a whole inch more back rise, but I'm gonna try to make em work.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Did a luke warm soak for approximately 30 minutes. They're drying right now so maybe some fit pics tomorrow.
