There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

I have a stupid question- what does ftw mean on the forum? Where I'm from it means fuck the world and I'm pretty sure that's not what yer getting at here.
Fuck the world. At least when I say it. And @Giles I suspect the same.
It’s kind of a thumb in the eye to doing things the traditional way. For me anyway.

Has anyone ordered from the "Rodeo-Japan" Amazon store?
I had a gift card from xmas and since there is no IH on Amazon (that i'm aware of), I ended up putting the money towards a Buzz Rickson Chambray.
Anyhow, I got the shipping confirmation and in it, the below message. Anyone seen this or know what to expect? I'm USA based
**Please understand that there may be delays depending on customs clearance and other various conditions of transportation.
Additional import duties and taxes may be charged on customs clearance into your country.
Customers must be in charge of this additional cost, therefore in this case,
please pay directly to the delivery agents or the customs office at the time you receive your packageThe import tax policies are different from countries to countries,
therefore, please contact the customs office of your living country for more detail**thanks for any help forum friends

I’ve no experience personally but I’ve heard of them and believe they are a legit operation. That small print looks like a pretty accurate and standard disclaimer to me.
What I know about shipping to the states is that typically there are quite a few days between a package landing and subsequently leaving customs. I’ve seen it take anywhere from 3 days to a week. So shipping times can vary and it is out of the shippers control.
As for tax and duty, happily for you guys there is quite a high ceiling for what you can have shipped in to the US without paying import tax. I can’t remember exactly but it is a few hundred dollars. Europe is pretty awful for that. A $400 order from IH can cost me another $30-50 in import tax.

Thanks @neph93 Rueben. That actually reminded me of my trip to London where i purchased an Indigofera Copeland from Rivet and Hide. I received cash at the airport when i turned in my receipt. i'm betting this is a similar deal. I'll report back if i get any further clarifying information that could help others.

I've bought from Rodeo a few times. That's their standard disclaimer, and it's basically what neph said- they're telling you that once they ship, it's out of their control, so don't bitch to them if it takes a while or if your country's customs service decides to charge you an extra arm and a leg. For what it's worth, I've never been hit with extra charges on packages from Japan. And if they're shipping via EMS, it usually arrives in a reasonable amount of time.

Is that it for Norway? Or does VAT come on top of that? For Denmark, as a rule of thumb I have to add 30% on top of the price of goods from outside the EU… which is another reason I worry about Brexit and the future of getting merc from IHUK.

@Chris thanks for the info and that's what I was hoping would be the case. Good gravy we have a cool community of knowledgeable people here.
My biggest concern was that the shirt was selling for $117 and the same (?) shirt on son of a stag website is $288 (massively inflated from other websites like self edge). I'm assuming it's the same shirt.
I had fears that the shirt would show up and i'd owe $160, which at that point, i'm buying IH. I'm getting this due to the fact that it was cheap-ish minus the GC.

I've lost track and lost interest tbh. I think VAT comes on top, but Norway being Norway, what incurs VAT is weird. Shoes/boots do not for example. If you can pass anything off as being work gear then you don' pay. I arrange things as best I can to avoid the worst of it but I can't make head nor tail anymore. Some things come in with nothing, some things cost way more than I thought they would. I've stopped caring.

I will try and not ask a stupid question, as it seems like i can't fail.
I had no interest in these particular jeans (not my style), but wasn't there a pair of jeans with leather back pockets introduced in FW19? whatever happened to those?
-
this might qualify as a stupid question but here goes…
when I get my 666s and my Wabash shirt---do I soak them before my first wearing?
I read so many different opinions that my head started to spin. -
sounds easy enough.
thanks for the info….that was quick -
Hi all - considering my first 21oz jeans purchase. With one of the looser cuts, are these wearable year-round in typical UK/Northern Europe temperatures?
For example, I’m wearing some old Cone Mills fabric 13.5oz jeans today and it’s 22 degrees - the jeans were fine for a lunchtime walk.
thanks - Bill

Is there a page for this particular shirt on here?

It’s either very new or quite an old one. The summer releases of printed tees have been by order only for the last few years so not all have their own pages. If you search for “summer printed tee” or something like that you may be able to track down its lot number.
