IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I did not think I'd be considering another jacket, seeing as I'll be picking up a type 2 from the f/w release later this year, but damn if this isn't a tempting option.
Classic 21oz, Indigo/Indigo 18oz, Olive whipcord, and this OD 19oz lefty sounds like a good well rounded collection of jackets yeah?
That's a great rotation! Which 18oz indigo/indigo are you looking at?
Do you have a brown cotton duck jacket? I get the most compliments on that jacket (2526J). That brown duck plays so well with blue denim!

I guess that would be the yet another excellent option. And to answer your question, its the type II coming out later this year.

Any estimate about restock? October?

Finally got to wear this beast the past two days. Finally some cool weather, not 90 degrees and 100% humidity….blah!

Looking more like Jan I am afraid
Well, this gives a chance to see what overdyed 14oz looks like compared to this
Self Edge did a 14.5oz version which can be seen here: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10701.0

Probably my fav jacket of all time.

Just curious… Are people finding that the lefty overdyed denim sheds its fugitive black ink somewhat faster than the 21oz OD? It seems like the pictures I've seen of worn lefty truckers make them appear a whole lot bluer than pictures of overdyed 21oz garments. Could all be a trick of the camera and lighting, of course...
If you have something in both the 21oz OD and the LHT OD, I'd be interested in your two cents. Or, indeed, pence.

@nurunuru I can't give you a direct comparison, I only have 21oz OD, but one thing I can say is that the base denims are very different beasts. With that in mind it is only natural that the OD variants are going to behave differently from each other.
The 21oz has a relatively smooth hand and as we know fades slowly because it is treated to slow down indigo loss. The 19oz LHT has a coarse patterned face and is really thick with indigo, it fades quicker and gives of the electric blues in no time.
The coarse face of the 19oz may well give up the black fugitive pigments quicker because of the the increased abrasion a fabric like that suffers, but I'm certain that more and lighter indigo will show up at areas of wear on the 19oz because of how the base denim fades.

@neph93 is on Point. I also think that the much lighter and faster Fading of the 19 oz denim leads to the OD 19 oz to turn out blue much faster.

Interesting point. I was surprised when I saw how quickly the 19oz OD was showing blue in some of the early fit pics, but they looked great. I'll probably go for the upcoming 14oz OD, so as it's similar to the 21oz (I think), I guess it'll be a slower burn.
