The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread
-
Whatever steampunk vibes come with bronze get amplified with the fake rivet bracelet. Just not a material I'd ever want for a watch.

Really liking the way that Hamilton looks. I've been eyeing a Khaki King for awhile, but may have to pick up a mechanical field watch instead. I'm curious how it looks in person.
-
@FlannelnBooze I've got 2 Hamilton watches, one khaki field mechanical, and the one in the pic a few threads back. They get daily use and I love them. I wouldn't ever pay more than £500 for a watch (I'd rather pay my mortgage off early than have £1000 on my wrist. Chances are it would get jacked in some of the areas I need to go to anyway!).
I like a simple military style without being too weekend warrior. I think some Hamilton fit that bill nicely for my needs.

My two watches are a SARG011 and SARB017, both are in the field/military style, the latter being a take on Rolex's Explorer. I think the most I'd spend on a watch is for a Speedmaster Professional - I've just always enjoyed that watch, but I'd always be reluctant to wear it. I'm really drawn towards the Hamiltons. They seem to be the step up from my Seikos. The standard mechanical field watch is extremely clean too, very tempting to pick up the bronze and put it on a natural veg tanned nato and let life shape its colors.

Joined the Hamilton family with this one.
Paired up with some IH-777S-21s and a Freenote t-shirt. Think the next step is to get a black NATO leather band for it.

Congrats! I’ve been eyeing these for years and still haven’t taken the plunge. Yours is a lovely colourway and looks great on the wrist.

SLA023 on the wrist today, the perfect companion to indigo denim

Looks like you're getting some bruises on those overalls @LewisStonehouse

A most excellent pairing there @Paul9221

SLA023 on the wrist today - extremely tricky to photograph

IH-777-21s with a tropical polo, and Hamilton field watch.
I wish every day was denim Friday.

They don't get as much Love as they deserve in my opinion but I'm rocking the Shinola Duck Watch. Great quality and looks fantastic!
-
@ackoasis that's lovely! Shinola watches are really underrated, IMO.
I work for a sister company of Shinola, so I get a healthy discount on their watches. Two years back, I picked up the Lake Superior Monster automatic. It's a beautiful and hefty watch! I only really use it for fancy occassions now that I'm using the G-Shock GMW B5000 as my daily driver.

I'm liking the dial on the new Oris Aquis Upcycle. It's made from plastics recovered from the ocean.

Finally got to whet my watch whistle after a few years of rampant net based research. I was never interested in blowing huge sums and was fairly sure I wanted a Hamilton field watch for a number of years.
Recently though, I’ve been drawn towards Seiko and picked up this steel automatic at a huge discount (probably partially due to the disgusting silicon strap with faux leather inlay it originally came on). I took the discount and spent it on one of the cordovan Pinion straps left in the Outlet. Quite pleased with the result.

Very smart Reuben! I’m a big Seiko fan, big fan of the 4 o clock crown position which helps make the watch more comfortable
-
You did well Rueben!
I have a big ugly Seiko diver with a shrouded bezel. They’re terrific watches and a great value across the range and including Grand Seiko.
These days I always wear a Garmin. I miss watches.
