IH-720-KHA - Khaki Cotton Whipcord Work Pants
-
@ARNC These aren't part of the SS23 collection but happen to have returned at the same time! The whipcord fabric feels slightly heavier, has a softer hand and won't be as breathable as the IH-735-KHA. The herringbone has a more textured look/feel due to the weave, and I'd say would be the better spring/summer option.

@tody sup. They put up a good one earlier in this post but here y’are:

Congrats, mate! Moving on to greener pastures? Is the future green? Green energy attire. He that plants green… is green. Green is good.

I'm wondering whether, as a beginner, i am not quite understanding the waist measurements. these pants looks great, but ...i have been at my approximate weight now for about 8 years, and size 30 pants have fit me perfectly in the waist every time. I have been upgrading my garments in general, and my previous pants have been from 1620, and the waist size 30 fit perfectly. Now, i am hoping to get my weight down a few more pounds (not overweight, but trying to get to ideal fitness at age 71), so i can live with this, but i bought 2 variants of these pants, and they are both the same. So tight in the waist that i can barely force them closed - tight enough that i am a bit worried that the buttons will not withstand this. When i view the video on how to measure, and i measure these, it looks to me like they are too small. it looks like these measure 14" (calculating to 28" when doubled). When i measure a pair of the 1620's, they come to 15". They were hemmed, but my inclination is to work with these anyway. Losing another 5 pounds, or a bit more, is in the plans anyway. But am I missing something here? (this isn't a complaint - went way overboard and (lol) it feels like i've bought out the whole store. And i'm loving everything. But I am a bit puzzled about this, and hoping that i will learn something. But would be wary of ordering more pants at this point. (go for it - i can laugh at myself, and would like to, in this instance).

@Nelson-Baboon One thing to consider with the whipcord pants is the fact that the fabric will not stretch. While the stretch is something to be factored in when buying denim, these pants will stay where they are.
So if pants that fit you well are 15", and these are 14" they are probably too small. I sized up in these in comparison to what I have in the 634 cut to compensate for the lack of stretch. -
@Nelson-Baboon There is a lot to unpack here. Buying pants, denim, jeans involves many variable with some fabrics stretching easily and some not at all. Then there is the rise (where it sits on the waist) with each fabric’s potential for shrinking. As much as I would like to say I’m an expert and don’t make costly mistakes, I can’t.
Imagine sitting in maths again and trying to figure out equations that you haven’t used in many years.

@Nelson-Baboon I promise they don’t bite…well not too hard

good suggestion. i thought that maybe on a sunday, i might get some interesting responses here. and yes - all of my interactions with them have been great thus far.

@Nelson-Baboon I like to think of the crew as financial consultants. I invest money and they produce returns…very rarely do I ever lose…and when I do it’s my own fault.
