IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk

So today i thought it a good idea to wash two pairs of jeans in preparation for alterations.
PIH10ANS jeans were soaked and agitated in hot water for 10-15 mins and then put on a 30 degree cycle with a short slow spin at the end. They lost about .5" at the waist and 1.5" on the inseam. This may be enough to get away with no alteration will see when dry. I want to have a decent length cuff on these.
IH-888-XHSib soaked the legs only in hotter water and agitated for 10-15 mins. As i wanted more loss in the legs than the waist. I then repeated the soak and agitation. Next put in the washing machine again 30 degrees and short slow spin. They have not behaved at all, 3/4" loss around the waist and a mere 1/2" on the inseam! They also faded patchily around the crotch will possibly make me look more of a wanker than I am. The plan is to get these hemmed to correct length but now not sure if there is more shrinkage to come.

All the shrink will be out of the XHS. Soaking and washing wasn’t necessary. The point of soaking only the legs is removed when you wash them in the machine as it is agitation combined with warmth that causes shrinkage and they got that with the wash. If it is any consolation the waist will stretch at least an inch with effort and the crotch is the first place to wear so you should be fine!

I gave these another hand wash yesterday.

^^^ great fades
What’s the ETA on a restock of these in size 40 please?
-
@Alex_24 they are planning a restock in limited quantities and 634 sometime in September (probably October).
I'd sign up for a notification using this form so you will be notified when they are ready. I forget how to code in a link..
So here is the url of the form: http://eepurl.com/drsoK9 -

Hi… If you measure a pair you own (and that fits how you like), using the IH method then you have a baseline for comparison.

i did that, but for some reason measurements always seem to be off. oh well. just ordered these, and if its too small, ill just return and go up 1 size.

Generally people who have been on the forum a while and/or buy from IHUK deal in the IH method. It’s the standard method for the Japanese denim industry regardless of what certain stores around the world do, so working it out is sensible in the long run.
Alternatively you can follow the progression of the existing table. The 32” should be around halfway between the 31” and 33”.
Finally you can always ask IHUK if they can check the thigh measurements of some of the 32” they have in stock, bearing in mind you may lose 0.3” in thigh with a hot wash.

thanks. i never hot wash or soak any of my raws. only cold. the thigh region is a huge problem for me. once that area shinks, its game over. really hoping this cut works for me!
-
These aren’t raw. They are sanforised, but there is a little shrink left in them.
I hear you on the thighs. I’m unable to wear a lot of cuts unless I oversize the waist because of that issue. The 888 should work for you. I love it for exactly this reason.
Oh yeah I know, but even if they are sanforized, they will shrink overtime with washes and soaks. My E6s had a rise of 12", and theyve gone down to 11" after only 2 washes.
Not sure how these will react, but always safe going bigger than smaller for me.

Fit check on these bad boys:
leg tapering/hem will be done on these soon.

I agree, it's a great fit Also there's indeed some slight bunching going on that could be hemmed if you wish not to double cuff or something.
