UGH I am super bummed out about the paint on these jeans. I was painting all day Sunday and was super in the zone. I knew I had got some acrylic paint on my right knee, but woke up to a fuckton more than I realized was there. I then tried isopropyl alchohol and a rag, which fucked them up even more (even after knowing the risk involved). I also tried baking soda mixed with water and that didn't so shit but get the solution caked onto it. After a hose down, I am left with this. Totally bummed and feel I ruined them even more when I guess I couldn have just left them. I have been moping a lot about it. Anyone on here able to tell me I'm not a huge idiot and I should/could still wear them?
Edit: FWIW my wife thinks I'm wrong for caring about it. She's just happy I'm painting again. Tells me to own it and stop being a pu**y about it.

@Oaktavia Ouch! I feel your pain as it's akin to getting the first scratch on a new pair of boots but I agree with your wife on owning it. Roll with it and make them your new "gettin' shit done" jeans and use them for yard work, house work, painting, etc. and they'll probably end up better for it.
Worse case scenario, you could snag another pair on the impending restock and given your track record, you could probably have a new pair equally worn-in in no time!

@SonnyTheElder thanks for the hype my dude. I'm feeling a bit better about it. Plus, now I can keep wearing my XHSmb more often. Definitely have my eyes on that restock but not sure.

The best option here is to enjoy them. You won’t get a good price for them, and I assume you don’t want to burn them? I think they look great. Double down and take them further in that direction. Have you seen the trousers that the guy who makes Clinch boots wears? They look pretty cool…

@Oaktavia
If nothing works, just make shorts out of them 🩳 -

I just looked them up and actually dig it. I'm not worried about my 888s now at all actually...thanks for that homie.

@Oaktavia Why don't you let them evolve naturally instead of trying to make them into something? In my opinion, you should wear them every time that you paint and not give two fucks!! Let them become a product of you and your painting, not force them into looking one way or another.
A product that evolves with you will be way cooler than trying to force it.

@Oaktavia Example of not giving a fuck and going with it:

This is a pair of 634S I beat the living crap out of renovating the house, the last major job I did wearing them was painting. These were about 2 years old when I stopped wearing them, probably about 20 washes including a few mega-hot (see leather patch). I occasionally pull them on for special occasions - like creosoting the fence…. -
...and some of the coolest jeans I've seen thrashed:

@Oaktavia I completely relate to your response but the collective wisdom seems good too.
My memory finally fired up (almost simultaneously with @goosehd). I was about to share the same post - see also https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum//post/559898 from the same guy - should help you feel happier about embracing the .
