Thank you all for the kind reply’s. This is a difficult time for such a warm jacket, but I’m making the best of it.
A typical Saturday in the summer for me is spent outdoors fishing and/or horseback riding. Today I got to enjoy both. What has become glaringly obvious in Minnesota is that the “Pandemic bubble” has burst for outdoor activities. 2020 and 2021 saw a huge increase in boaters and fisherman on the lake, and hikers and trailer rider on the horseback trails.
That all changed this summer, and we had very little fishing competition on the water, and Allie and I had the 1300 acre park all but to ourselves. I can’t understand how so few people take advantage of the beauty of nature.

Going to be hot and steamy this weekend. We will try and ride early. This wet start to the MN summer has been amazing for the woods and pastures, but a nightmare for the bugs. The horses were getting annihilated by flies today, and it makes for a less comfortable ride as they twitch and battle.
We did stop for a moment to have a stare off with a white tail deer. We suspected she had little ones nearby, but we didn’t see them.

Still trying to find ways to wear the Mad Red. I may have to go out at night. Until then, someone awesome in my little town of Carver did a drone flyover compilation. Feel free to fast forward through it.
-
Sheesh. I slept in a bit due to rain, and still got to the launch by 5:50. We were the only boat on the water for 90 minutes to start the day. We’re finding numbers but not size. New lake next week.
In other news, my wife loves horses and we ride every weekend that we can. Bonus picture of a kitten. We forgot pictures but my wife’s client has a daughter with serious medical issues. She was selected to be the recipient of all proceeds of a yearly
Homerun derby with live auctions, food, drinks, a petting zoo (see kitten) and an incredible turnout in the small town of New Prague. -

@jordanscollected Very cool pool rack!! I didn’t know that you could get custom ones…Can you provide a link?
-
Sure thing @goosehd! It’s made by Delta 13 and was a gift from my wife. I actually use the magic rack template mostly now for its perfect rack tightness providing consistent breaks, but I love the Delta too.

@jordanscollected never wear the MRMF jacket to the pool bar. You’ll never get anybody to bet against you. It is quintessential pool shark attire! Very slick
-
It's a bit easier @motojobobo when the pool hall is my basement. My wife has all my money already so it's a safe bet.
the Mad Red would be quite intimidating to use as a gambling prop. I should try it.

killin it @jordanscollected !

@jordanscollected your photos are taking me back. I recently watched The Color of Money for the first time. Great flick. You could definitely hustle with Paul Newman in the MRMF.

Hot and humid MN weather has made it impossible to wear on the Mad Red. So humid in fact, that Dreamer (at 20 years old) was left home from riding this weekend. I walked/jogged and Allie rode Nola. I challenged Nola to a race and got smoked.
We spent the afternoons on the lake swimming and today was full of scattered thunderstorms and cloud cover. The rods are never left at home. I caught this 18” largemouth on a topwater spook and I about 20 minutes later I caught a 20” bass that wriggled from my grip in a dumb moment and missed his photo op.

My wife hosted a retreat at our home this past weekend and I was "hired" to cook all meals and tell jokes and whatnot. It was a fast and furious blast that took tons of planning and preparation.
They started the day with Breakfast of a variety of baked goods, yogurt with homemade muesli, and caprese omelets (not pictured). Then they went to goat yoga for some stretchy snuggle time.
back at the house for lunch I made grilled vegetable pasta salad, more baked goods (cookies and such), and homemade crepes. 1. mushroom and goat cheese 2. Asian pork with yum yum sauce and pickled slaw with turmeric crepe batter.
after lunch they went foraging in the woods for flowers and greenery to make spiritual energy wreaths. a huge storm came through and drenched everyone, but we kept moving. The rain stayed away in the evening long enough for me to make chicken and vegetable Paella for dinner.

Sunday was time to relax on horseback.

Still hot. However the Mad Red is still here and going to @scooter soon for the trip to Gosport.
I’ve been extremely busy with side gig stuff to equalize inflation and to afford more Iron heart.Made some appetizers for a party last Saturday.
Then I worked a backyard party for some high ups at a medical company. They wanted their new OONI pizza oven tested out so that was the plan
Finally had time to get out fishing this morning. It was shaping up to be the best day of the year but hard rain and lightning drove us off the lake just an hour in.

Good stuff, @jordanscollected . Sorry, I dropped the ball. Since our last PM, I got so involved with work, I totally forgot about the Mad Red. As I said, I had hoped to make the trek to MN, and pick it up in person. With no work scheduled for the upcoming week, that is looking realistic. Better yet, the current weather forecast looks favorable for riding. Let's plan a meet for next weekend, shall we ?…
