IH-101J-SR - 18oz Selvedge Denim Storm Rider Jacket - Indigo

@Anesthetist @Joberwocky Looks good, fellas. The sleeves really ride up with wear, and the whole thing softens and drapes nicely too.

Thank you @Richard @Joberwocky , @steelworker , @Fadez @ tobisieh @sabergirl for the reassurance and advice! I tried the jacket on again today with jeans and a flannel and I feel much more confident about my decision. I think what makes it look a little wider on me is just that the denim is still stiff and the lining is making it poof out sideways. I'm thinking with wear and abuse it will settle down and drape much more naturally. I have to say, it is a surprisingly warm jacket! Just with trying it on over an UHF I started getting hot ???
@sabergirl I talked to my wife extensively about which jacket to choose (she is so very patient) and she told me just to order the Sherpa too. I'm not sure I will but it's an extremely nice and tempting offer.

…I think it looks like it fits perfect @Anesthetist!
…I felt like the sleeves and the body were a little long at first on mine also (sleeves being an inherent IH trait) but I've grown used to it. Besides even if I went down a size the sleeve length wouldn't have changed. :o

That’s a killer fit @vaquero357
Here’s my goal

[mention]Anesthetist [/mention] she’s a keeper, but you knew that already [emoji23]! You can always try it and sell the one you’re not that into—though that would be almost impossible, I’m sure. The storm rider suits you. I think you’re right that it will settle and the fit will be perfect.

This is my first morning actually wearing the jacket and it feels fantastic. I took some time to really appreciate the craftsmanship in this piece. It’s pretty nuts and I’m sure it gave the factory fits at first. Anyway it has already settling down and is so damn warm! It was around 32F this morning and I was super comfortable. -
Looks fantastic @Anesthetist
Love the purple flannel combo, I look forward to temps dropping again my way so I can start fighting with myself about what killer IH jacket to wear in the morning I'm squarely in sweatshirt or flannel weather atm -
Looks about perfect to me, how do the shoulders feel and how does it feel buttoned?

Perfect fits so far.
I have a vintage SR but this thing won't leave my head, even though I rarely wear denim outerwear. True to forum enabler form, you folks are not helping.

You know what you must do…..[emoji6]

@Anesthetist the Shoulders are fitted but not tight. Feels good buttoned up. With an UHF it is a little tight in the Armholes area.. I’ve planned it to wear it with an T and Henley and that is fine and comfortable

…@thomas01 looks spot on me boy!

Exactly how mine fits as well. After a few wears the shoulder/ armhole does relax just a hair, so there’s that to look forward to [emoji106]

The armholes in mine started a tick tight but they loosened up. Looks great @thomas01

Just got surprised by one of these under the xmas tree this morning. Wife grabbed me the indigo buffalo check and then saw this jacket drop in an email blast and decided I had to get this as well. Shoutout to Alex, who she tells me helped her out a lot with sizing and gave her an extremely generous/nice try on logistics for me between L and XL.
My sizing decision is that the XL/42 is the right size for this, since I'm going to want to wear this over UHFs and sweaters as a more common coldish-weather jacket. I could tell within a few flexings of the elbow that the extra length in the sleeves would go away a bit as they crease. I'm a large in IHSH models, though those are just over t-shirts so it's not apples to apples.
Wife (who is a vintage enthusiast) said after she finally saw all the stuff IH made she totally understands why I'm obsessed and have so many pieces now.

You have a good one there (jacket and Wife)! Lets see some pics!
Christmas started off very warm and humid but then the wind picked up and it feels like winter again.

Pic with my new IHSH Indigo Buffalo check under it. Obviously you can see the arms are bulky and a hair long, but the rest of the body is exactly the fit I want/need. This is specifically going to be my daily winter coat, so I wanted that bulkier less fitted look.
