Simmons Bilt leadtimes
-
I had one made through Standard and Strange and it took about eight weeks, maybe a little less even. The type of jacket ordered, the availability of materials, and so on could have impacted the time it took for @Filthy or even myself. Who knows. What I do know is that both leather jackets I own are from them and they are beyond anything I ever expected.

4 months lead time??? Seriously? Winter will be over…damn...
I don't own anything from Simmons Bilt, or any leather jacket for that matter, but I think 3-4 months is reasonable for a bespoke leather jacket.

I wouldn't say it's bespoken, regular measurements… maybe it is, I dunno...

When you take into consideration the number of products they sell and to whom they're selling I think it's reasonable to assume that it takes time to make their jackets, whether it be stock jackets or custom jackets for a retailer like Standard & Strange. Their jackets aren't cheap so they have to make sure the fit is right for the customers, otherwise, this would lead to returns which is counterproductive and costly.

I did have special extra heavy black sheepskin so this impacted the time by 2-3 weeks.

Aren't all Simmons Bilt made to order regardless of custom measurements or not? For a small company that is growing in popularity and filling more larger retailer orders I don't think 3-4 months is unreasonable for a jacket to be made. If you need it now I suppose you could ask them if any of their stockists carry the jacket you want.
