IHM-30-IND - Whipcord N1 Jacket - Indigo
-
Received this jacket recently and it’s top quality. The wool and alpaca lining is the standout feature which makes it a really warm winter jacket. Not sure how it’ll cope in wet weather but I’m hoping there’s a degree of water resistance in the whipcord cotton. I’m really pleased with the jacket so far. Well done to the designers and manufacturers.

@Michael1984 congratulations. I have an earlier non-indigo iteration and don’t mind wearing it in the rain. It isn’t water proof, nor is it water resistent, but the tight weave and windproof layer means it doesn’t get soaked through, and a lot of the rain runs off. Just hang it to dry after use in wet weather and you’ll be golden.

Thanks, it seemed to offer some protection in a light shower so that’s a bonus.

@cj:
Very nice. I wonder whether it will bleed a lot or not
I’ve only had it a couple of days but there’s been no noticeable bleeding so far. It’s an even indigo dye which looks excellent in my opinion. Matches really well with any indigo jeans.

@Michael1984 we would all love some fit pics of this jacket. At your convenience of course.

I’ll try my best, I’m no model though!

were mostly lusting after your coat anyhow @Michael1984

Even if the wool is wet it will still be warm.

I’m 5’10” and 170lbs. I usually wear a size large in IH shirts, although really I’m probably between medium and large.
With that in mind, what size would I probably be looking at for an IH N1 Jacket? Thanks for your help.

@going_to_battle If you hover over the names of the crew in the product description, you can see our vitals and what size we wear.
I am a Small/Medium in IH Shirts but wear a Small in deck jackets. I could wear a Medium but I always find the sleeve a bit long.
Depending on your build, I would err towards a Large. For a more detailed insight get in touch with one of the crew and we can run through measurements etc to help you further

I’m an XL in most IH, but can get away with an L in some shirts. My N-1 is XL and it is great but I am able to layer heavily under it (which I need in northern Norway). I’d definitely wear an L over lighter layers.
I’d suggest you consider your layering needs. If you’ll be wearing sweaters, UHF’s etc under then L, if you’re wearing over just a top or light shirt, then M may well be enough.

I agree with @neph93 and @AdamJ. I’m 5’11, 185lbs and would wear a large based on the measurements. It’s a winter coat so layering will be a necessity imo. Better to have extra room to layer than none at all

I’m 6’2, 170lb and wear a large. It has room for layering and isnt constricting in the shoulder.
