Seconded @hoppy_IPA. I just don't know wtf I'm doing when it comes to machine wash.
Inside out + in the tub + hottest water possible + Dr. Bronner's + hand agitation.
I air dry inside out in the bathroom overnight and then put them on the patio in the sun during the day, turning them rightside out and putting them on while the top block is still a little damp.
So far no major f#*@ ups over here!

Hand washing is the safest without a doubt. There’s a consensus (that I have no empirical data on), that US washing machines are pretty harsh on clothes compared to European machines.
I always machine wash my jeans (40C and max 800rpm), and have never had marbling except that one time my little guy had puked all over my 666-XHS and in all the stress I forgot to turn down the rpm and they went through on 1600. It is the rpm that causes the marbling.
-
@Neph93, by rpm are you referring to the spin cycle?
-
Yup. I get it now. Usually the higher end machines have that feature of no spin cycle. Also i think the machines with agitators are harder on clothes and jeans in particular than the machnes without.

I'm not sure. Ours at home is a front loader too. I have definitely screwed up a few items by not being sensible about what settings I use. I tend to do 30C and no spin for best results. I always soak before washing and always turn inside out. I also try and put more than just one item in the wash, preferably a sweatshirt and pants, I think this "softens" the wash cycle…..
-
Top loaders are more harsh than front loaders, generally speaking. I've also had better results washing jeans with a couple of other items, as Giles said. Typically, I toss in items of varying sizes- a towel, some socks, and a t-shirt or two, for instance. I have no empirical evidence to support this system, but it works pretty well for me. Oh yeah- wash inside out, light soil cycle, low spin (my machine doesn't give rpms, much to my annoyance).

Thanks for all the washing advice. I have top load and i havent figured out how to control the time for soak. I think it drains after 10-15 min regardless of what i do…turning the washer off etc. I usually go wiht tub soaking/washing which is what I did, and managed to get inside out. Worked like a charm.

Hi to everyone,
is it normal for legtwist of right leg?
-
Legtwist on the XHS is normal, especially at larger (34 and up) due to the fact that it is unwashed - similar to how unsanforized denim with shrink in accordance to the twill weave direction, an unwashed denim (like this one) with skew.
I always love have the selvedge line twists and lays on the laces of my chucks in a cool way - like an “if you know, you know” badge of honor!
