IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Finally have a pair of 634 in the proper size. I fecking love this pair! If you scroll through this thread you will see a pair I tried last year that were just too big. Plus they were unhemmed and I think 634 looks better hemmed. This is how they should fit. Turns out even though I'm 6'3" I have tiny legs as my inseam is 30". After a hot soak and a cuff, they measure as 27"...way shorter than I thought. I guess I'm mostly torso. I opted for a turquoise hem because of course I did!

Very nice fit. At this point the 634 is the only IH cut I will wear anymore.
-
@Palmer Same conclusion here after having tried the other cuts, I have finally settled on the 634 cut. I might add either the XHS or the UHR in this cut later on. For now, I'm enjoying my 634 21oz fabric.

Good shit @Oaktavia ! Ironically I started a pair of these today too. Been wearing 888-XHS and also realized that the 634 is just the perfect cut for me.
-
@Oaktavia They look great on you my friend, you absolutely don't have short legs, they simply have a very high waist (same problem I have with 555s, they always seem too long compared to other cuts even though they are the same length). Congratulations I haven't seen a cut of Ih yet that looks bad on you

My pair of IH 634 21oz have become my favorite pair of jeans. The 25oz 634 intrigues me though. What are the main differences between the two? I would anticipate more heft and stiffness out of the box, but wondering more how they will wear over time. Should I order the same size in the 25oz as my 21oz? Thanks.
-
I would size them exactly the same. The 25oz its obviously heavier and sftiffer to begin with. There is a brake in period but eventually with wear they become very soft and pliable. It will be a great addition to your closet. Its a very nice fabric and i think you will enjoy it. Also its different enough so they will feel like a different pair of jeans from your 21oz.

I've been considering picking up a pair of these from a member here and sending them off for hemming to wear uncuffed.
My cuffed 555s come in at just under a 30 inch inseam, I was gonna get these taken down to 31 inches but the amount of shrinkage you got has me wondering if I should allow a little more length...
Edit; I could just wash them before hemming
-
Any idea how much it shrunk in the inseam? I got my pair hemmed but would like at least an inch of shrink. I haven’t soaked it yet
-
Usually an inch in the waist and inseam after a hot soak. Not an exact science. Some people get more some less.
-
That’s good to hear! After rolling the cuffs twice, I could use another inch or so on the inseam.
-
I assume you have been wearing them and haven't soaked them yet. If you wait too long the creases will shift after the soak. Just give them a good hot soak for about an hour and them turn the inside out and put them in the washing machine. Turn off the spin cycle if you have that feature. Then air dry them and wear the hell out of them.
