Thanks @ROman that’s so interesting to me. I don’t know if you’ve seen the documentary “slingshot” but it was very good. Informative, the guy just wanted to give people the ability to have clean water. Thanks again

Playa del Carmen: in past trips, I've always stuck to bottled water. Curious what the contaminants are and whether I'd be in good shape using a backpacking water filter. If they are viral or mineral in nature I'll skip the filter. If they are largely bacterial in nature I'll bring it.

^ bro you’re gonna get the bug no matter what. Everybody pays the Mexico toll.

trying to plan out my trip to europe this year. probably spending a week in UK and a week in paris, maybe a day in brussels. i'll be doing a self drive trip. couple of questions for you season channel travellers.
1)how does the eurotunnel work? (is it fixed timing or if you get there earlier you can board an earlier train? is it worth crossing by boat instead? etc) i do really wanna see the white cliffs..
2)Parisian motorways.. (tolls and such?) besides driving on the wrong side of the road, i probably need to know how will it be different driving a UK registered vehicle in normal europe.
3)not sure if a trip to brussels is worth it…
thanks in advance..

what's in ghent?
It's old and pretty. The only good thing about Brussels is Seul beer cellar (or so I'm led to believe).

You book a crossing, and if there is space one before you can ccatch that. The boat take fucking ages, I would not waste your time.

Yes, there are tolls on most motorways. The french are pretty impatient drivers at the best of times, they will be less patient to a vehicle with a UK numberplate. Good luck!

nothing better than old and pretty european cities. i don't know why some people i've spoken to don't like that about europe.. i'll consider ghent…
Thanks alex. the chunnel sounds pretty straightfoward then. i've driven in asia, doubtful it'll get more impatient than that! most likely only using the car to get to paris and belgium and a few out of town sites..

Bring the bottled water.

Thanks! Though bringing the bottled water is not an option due to TSA restrictions–the questions whether a filter is worth bringing.
To be safe, I'll just stick with mezcal [emoji23]
