Hi Giles, this is TSG in Japan. Where are you based? In Gosport, Japan, the US or …..where are you.
-
Our products are made in Japan, we run the International operations from Gosport in the UK and have a US based website.
-
So Giles, you are in Gosport, with Adam. Love that ferry!
-
Yes, a lot of Adams over there! You are all lucky guys (and girls?) working with such great products. It amazes me that Gosport is the home of IH UK, I lived in Alverstoke for many years, and we never had anything like IH in Gosport before. A real backwater! Times change. Keep up the good work.
-
It still is a backwater, that's why we like it…..

I have lived in Alverstoke for 24 years so you can only believe my luck when I found IH only 2 minutes down the road!
-
You are lucky! I live in Japan now…. a few thousand miles away. But the online shop is terrific.
-
Wow Giles, so Gosport is now the coolest backwater in the UK. Love those T-shirts, pity they are extinct!

I am a fan of Tintin, have been since I was a kid. I live near a small town in Japan called Maebashi. There are only three Tintin shops in Japan, Tokyo, Kyoto and …....Maebashi. Kind of similar. I was shocked to find that shop when I arrived here twenty years ago!

I've heard a lot about RHT versus LHT over the years, but I've never understood: why is the warp typically under more tension in LHT than RHT? Why wouldn't it simply be a reversal of the twilling with no discernible difference other than the direction of the twill?
-
And speaking of twills, has IH ever done a broken twill denim?
-
That one I can answer in the negative.

Because in LHT, the process of weaving tightens the spun yarn as it weaves, in a RHT the process of weaving loosens the tension in the spun yarn - typically the warp and the weft yarns are spun (twisted) in the same direction. Does that make sense? I can provide more data when I'm not in bed and have the relevant books to hand….

@Max:
Will there be a release schedule for the spring / summer stuff? Or does it already exist and I didn't find it?
It's now here @Max Power

Thanks a lot! Seems like I have to wait a Long time till the shorts hit the store. Given our current temperatures I might be able to wear them already in the mid of march.
