Does anyone know if I can play dvds from the UK (region 1) on my year old Dell laptop bought & owned here in the US (region 2)?
-
^You'll need to run this
http://www.dkszone.net/find-region-code-dvd-drive-driveinfo
to find out if your drive is region protected.
If it is, search your drive model & see if there's a firmware hack to make it region free. -
Thanks, MOD. Looks like I can get that box set of The Inbetweeners after all.

As one who hails from la belle province, it's hard to pledge allegiance to a particular MLB team, for several reasons: 1. since our 'Spos were unceremoniously yanked from underneath us by Bud, we've been typically bitter about the subject of baseball in general and 2. the teams we do latch on to, their fans have a hard time accepting us and thus fail to truly acknowledge our presence.
That being said, I've been doing my best to follow the BoSox since '04–tough to do since we are inundated with coverage of the Blue Jays. However, I've been looking for a National league team to follow so as to sufficiently sate my baseball needs.
Therefore, I need permission from San Fran natives to commence my pursuit towards attaining the status of fan of the San Francisco Giants.
I know it looks like bandwagon jumping since they took the ship last year, but it has mostly to do with my deep interest in Vogelsong after learning his story on the Showtime original series The Franchise. As far as overcoming obstacles within the realm of sports, the dude's a modern inspiration. Furthermore, it's a storied franchise that has a colourful history which will make for an interesting read.
So, thumbs up or down?
