Looking awesome Mike. Can't wait for tag 38 to be in stock!

Thanks gents. I have been wearing them and being as active as possible and I might be also sleeping in them too.

Every New guy has to say hello somewhere, so 888 for me (with your advice please).
Summary is:
Old git
Ex Biker, z650 mainly
Desk job nowI bought a pair of 634S 21oz (Tag 34 hemmed to 31 (I am 29)) in December.
I am really enjoying them, getting softer after three warm soaks and drip drys. They are very comfortable, could maybe be a little snugger on the thigh and hem (top bits are good), and just starting to get some slight tonal changes (Graphics industry ….indulge me please). So I thought I would try 777 XHS.
I like the 25oz a lot (not a problem and after a couple of soaks it's getting a bit more mellow) but I might have gone for a bit of a tight / too young cut (rise is a bit low, calfs a bit tight, pockets are low & long...).A chum suggested 888 as a mid way. What do you think?
Thanks (in advance)

The 888 can be a great choice for you. It has a higher rise, so nake sure you are ok with that. It will seat higher on your waist. The top block, if you go the same size as your 634(which i recommend) will be slightly more snag. The upper thigh, close to the crotch and a little below will be very similar and then they will start tapering around mid thigh, so they will be more snag at the knee and countinue to a narrower leg opening. Look at the IH sizing chart and pay attention to the knee measurements and make sure you are ok with that. Other than that, it's an extremely flattering and very flexible cut. It also looks very modern , but still mature. Some guys go a size down on the 888's and it works for them. I personally take the same size on 634 and 888. Bottom line pay attention to the sizing chart and you will love them.

The 21oz is sanforized and one washed. You will get minimal to no shrinkage. I am assuming that you are getting the 21 oz. If you are getting the 25oz, i will still go tag 34. They will shrink after the initial wash, soak, but they will stretch out back to pre wash size or maybe a tad bigger. If the pre wash measurements from the chart work for you, thats is what you are going to end up with, after the initial wash and then the stretch. The only thing you need to get right is the hemming, because the shrinkage in the length is not coming back. If you hemmed your 634's at 31 if i remember correctly, i will hem the 25oz around 32.5. This way if you lose an inch or so you are are fine. You will not lose more that an inch.

The 25oz starts a lot stiffer than the 21oz, so you will have a different experience. In the beginning the top button will be a bitch to deal with. Just be prepared. After about 2 weeks or so of continuous wear they will soften up and start feeling comfy. Eventually with wear, they will become thick sweat pants soft and you will love them. Just prepare for some initial discomfort. Again i cannot emphasize enough to pay close attention to the size chart.

I am geeked about my rebooted, shrunkified, and ironed stacks now that they have settled in. I love these jeans a lot.
I gave all the flat surfaces another hot steam iron. So the denim is extra shiny and smooth now. The battle with the waist is over now too. They are very comfortable (in all the right places) and still have a slim silhouette, just tight enough behind the knees for awesome combs, and great stacks. -
@Filthy:
great stacks
I just sent my XHSib's off for a hem. Deeply conflicted about amputating a bit of the stacks

current thoughts on XHS vs. XHSib..? Have you found one harder to break in.. softer once there.. when new?

Yeah I thought about just leaving them unchopped and going for monster stacks… But I have 888-XHSib and they were a little to much unhemmed and not cuffed.
I think the weight of the denim and softness is virtually identical. But the XHSib is more fun in the short term since I think it looks awesome when they first start to fade.
I think I prefer the regular XHS in the long term though because of the white fades and they are not as loud. But it's like trying to compare what cat I love more than the other... I love them both very much for different reasons.
Stacks look great Mike.
thanks buddy.

My double stitched arrived this morning.
Three weeks not getting back to IH base for hemming.
Jack was like a Wolf chasing the couriers (anyone sees a UPS guy in 888 25s say hello the old fashioned way from me).Following this process @neph93 (my spec differs by just the 1" inseam at 31")
Soaked for an hour, hanging now and wearing damp in the morning.Yay! Ever since the 888 came out I've been dying to see it in XHS… I even bought the 888-XHSib, despite the black/indigo combo not being my favourite (they are beautiful though).
They arrived yesterday and I'm ecstatic to finally have them in my possession. I bought W34. I have the 888s-0d and the XHSib in w33 but they are sized down for a slimmer silhouette. I wanted these a little more relaxed though.
I measured them, then soaked for 90min in 50C water, no agitation. Here are the dims:
Dimension - Before/After
Waist - 34"/33.5"
Front rise - 12"/11.5"
Back rise - 16.5"/16"
Thigh - 12.9"/12.7"
Knee - 9.2"/8.9"
Hem - 8.65"/8.45"
Inseam - 32.2"/31.5"These seem more like an 888 as they were conceived, like my IH-888-UHR with a relaxed leg and true taper. Just what I was after. The waist started moving straight after I put them on. I also tried an approximation of @adam313 method of getting creases in early by wearing them damp and cool. There is no doubt that creases at the hip, behind the knee and at the hem came in straight away and stayed after I took them off to dry throughly. excited to see where these go.
Fit pics etc soon.
