@SKT it starts a bit slow as they build characters, but it picks up fast and furious. they do a great job without a ton of violence, killing, nudity, etc. while still being gripping edgy and engaging.

@SKT Succession is a surefire winner. The characters are unlikeable but you can't help but root for a couple of them.
Personally, being a horror addict if sorts, I've been watching "slasher" on shudder (first few seasons were in Netflix) because it's a gruesome whodunnit that doesn't take itself too seriously.

@Seul I've got a friend at work really pushing Brand New Cherry Flavor. What'd you think?

Ha. I wrote my bachelor dissertation on the book that series is based on about 26 years ago. Had no idea it had been adapted for tv.

Absolutely classic…..
I love that episode. I was living in south Jersey when it first aired and a couple of my roommates were from some small town in the Pine Barrens. They claimed the show didn't make it weird enough.

Six eps in - it's fantastic… Good, dark vibes... Good, low budget vibes as well But I like that...

+1 more for what everyone here is saying about Succession, I have been waiting with baited breath for S3.
@Giles I think you may have pushed me over the edge on starting a full rewatch of the Sopranos…I recently wrapped Breaking Bad viewing 2 and I think for the purpose of defining my all time favorite I need to give the Tony and his crew the same courtesy.
It's that or learn a new language, which can obviously wait another month or two
Oh and while I am here, sweet baby Jebus is season duex of Ted Lasso just about as good as comedy gets or what!!??

I'm loving the new season of What We Do In The Shadows. The most recent episode had me cracking up!

TED LASSO S02 was perfection IF you don't watch the x-mas ep. Don't watch the x-mas ep.

It was a bit odd. The show has a certain sweetness to it and they turned that up past 11.

I agree with all of the sentiments regarding White Lotus. Wtf. I love/hated it.

Hahaha, I think I completely mentally blocked out the Christmas episode, that was shit…

It was surreal when the musical numbers broke out. The wholesomeness was cloying.
Another critique I have is around the sponsorship issue. That was a thing and then it was not a thing. It advanced a storyline of the team and management having each other’s backs now I guess but I feel like that thread should probably have had a little more to it.
-
I think for me it is all about the writing. The non stop jokes that are so subtle is something that really keeps me engaged. I also love the overwhelming sense of positivity, it's refreshing and I appreciate that they are pulling it off without it being obnoxious, so far anyway. Christmas episode notwithstanding

I would agree with that by and large–but I would love to see more challenges and conflict--not a lot of them, that would throw of that kind of innocent balance the show has. But Season One had that with the storyline of the sabotage. It's a fine balance but the show is too saccharine without that tension IMO, so I think S2 has taken a step back overall.
Though I guess the intention is for Ted's mental health to be serve that role now, and I do applaud them for taking on that topic.
Note: I am a couple of episodes behind.

Ya know, I was gonna start up squid game tonight, glad I'll hate everyone
