@EdH:
This question has probably been asked but my search-fu failed me.
Wife is thinking about moving away from fast fashion brands herself. What brands are there in the womens-wear space that do what Iron Heart is doing viz. making things that last, making sure that everyone in the supply chain is fairly compensated, etc?
For boots, Red Wing do a women's line, but custom Wesco's would be the way to go for true quality, longevity and artisan support.
For tops… IH do women sizes in a selection of shirts. There is a thread here about that, They normally need to be specially ordered from Japan. @RoxRocks86 has some experience with them and could be of service.
For jeans, the 777, 555 and 461's will all work. 888, 666, 634 for a boyfriend type cut. But if the desire is for expressly female targeted cuts then Hiut Denim do them, as do Railcar. Probably others too.

Thanks @neph93
Sorry if I was unclear, but I wasn't looking for suggestions for brands that do clothes in the IH style, necessarily, but brands that have a similar approach to the IH ethos. So slow-fashion, built-to-last, repairable, ethical supply chain, that sort of thing. Hiut is a good shout but she's good for jeans (I got her a pair of Benzak's ladies cut for her birthday) and is thinking of getting some tops.
My wife's style is pretty high-street. I'm trying to help her find an alternative to H&M, GAP, New Look, etc.

If you're UK based, there's good quality womenswear at shops like Envoy of Belfast, Couverture and Garbstore, Goodhood, Epitome of Edinburgh. Brands like Engineered Garments, Nigel Cabourn, Orslow, etc.

Could be a little too Americana, but Imogene + Willie has some very nice looking women's stuff that is pretty ethically focused as far as I know.

Thank you both, I will check them out and see what she thinks.

Thanks for the Klarna tip. Had no idea you could shop anywhere through the app - thought a retailer had to opt-in to them.

What happened to the option where if you hovered the cursor over an item— you would be able to see the available sizes that were still in stock?

I'll take another hard look at the 1955s, 634s….
Risking a potential faux pas of quoting myself, I recently picked up a second hand pair of 634-21 ODs. They no longer have the leather patch, but the inner waist band tag is still in place and it does say W33. If the current production run measurements were the same as whatever year these came from, then that shows they stretched a full THREE inches in the waist based on the actual garment measurements (36.0). Does that seem right? I've read 1-2" no problem but can't say I've heard this much.
Everything else measures about what I'd expect for broken in jeans, FR: 11, RR:16.1, TH: 13.0 compared to the stock measurements of 10.7, 15.6, and 12.9, respectively.
Overall, these are definitely the best fitting IH jeans I've tried now. Given they are well loved, I wont be shy about using them for whatever, but to make them "perfect" I'd wish for a taller front rise (11.5-12") and narrower knee/hem. (currently 9.5/9.0, respectively)
Pinging the collective here again, with this extra data point, how would a IH-666S-21 compare in the top block to these 634's? The 666-W36 in these appears to have most of the measurements I'd want after breaking-in other than starting with a waist that's slightly too big, but I always always wear a belt anyway. Maybe this isnt a big deal? Am I wasting (no pun intended) my time here?

Is there any chance of a Black slubby denim coming?

A well worn pair may get three inches of stretch, but it is more likely that there has been two to two and a half on a pair that came up half an inch over spec, or that the batch was a little bigger than the current the website batch. Or it could be a combination of the above. This is not an exact science and the site measurements are based on batch aggregates as there is variation within batches.
The 666 seems to be what you’re after in the leg. The top block is trimmer than the 634 over the hips however, and the rise slightly lower.

Can we change the settings on the IH website so it doesn’t shut off my music/podcast every time I hop on?

@68degreesorless I've shot you a PM regarding the issue

If you had to put a price on these shelves what would it be? They’re roughly 20-25feet long, 10 feet tall and 4-5 feet deep. One of the three has drawers.

The right buyer would probably pay really good money for those, but it’ll be hard to find someone with a use for them. We had some amazing tall steel shelves when cleaning out my dad’s office that ended up basically being given away because they were so huge and heavy.
Sorry that’s not more helpful. Maybe ask for offers and see what comes?

Has anyone found something similar to the old 7.5oz Shitamachi IH tees? They were among the best in the business and I’d like some more soft, heavy, textured tees that don’t pill.

Here is a question to all of you beer drinkers and overeaters (beer belly folks):
Do you have any jackets that fit perfectly all over except the gut? Is not being able to button up a denim jacket comfortably just something us Grinch-belly people deal with?
There is just one jacket in my collection that I love except for this reason, and honestly think sizing up would take away the fitted/tailored look. Some jackets we just don't wear buttoned/zippered? I'm fine with taking it for what it is, but I'm just curios if anyone else is like me in this respect. Might make me feel a little better, because I'm not going to the gym
