I've had the intro to this in my head for two days
-
@mclaincausey that album rules.
@Filthy I am always cool with Depeche in my head.
-
Hell yeah

Really love this flat-pickin', smooth singin' artist. She is amazing. Used to room with Billy Strings before someone asked what would happen if their apartment caught on fire
Townes van Zandt's "White Freightliner" with a GoPro on the machine head so you can see her pick work. I'm no guitarist, but I know amazing picking when I see it… and that voice!
And Garcia's/Hunter's "Standing on the Moon" always hits me square in the feels:
And getting back punkwards, I just found this NOMEANSNO video from '89, which is a gem. It starts with an interview about independence and freedom in a very punk ethos before "Small Parts Isolated and Destroyed," then returning to the interview:

admit it’s musical marmite
So very true, but I feel like the world needs more true weirdos like these guys. It's like The Fall on Broadway. Mad carnival barker vibes mixed with complex musicality.
I mean, it's really fucking annoying but I love it.
@jerkules not sure if you've heard this group but they get me equally if not more excited based on their propensity for enjoyable wacked-outedness:

@popvulture only just now checking out Palm. Really good recommendation, I’d never heard of them but this is definitely my bag. It’s cool that they’re unusual yet still have an open/warm-hearted sound.
-
I've never seen Anderson .Paak not being the one on the skins himself.
He's a tremendous talent.
-
NF is the best rapper in the game right now, and I'm not even looking for hands offering second opinions.
If you've never heard of him, he is a rapper from Michigan with a few albums out. After he released "The Search" he had some critics writing bad about him.
He does it all without cuss words too.
He released the following song "Paid my dues" in response.
The title track to "The Search" is one of his best known songs.

Was just enjoying this. Good morning listen, nice n' Krauty.

Just trying to rebalance/center: (Always makes me smile :))
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing
And
Always look on the bright side of life
(Come on)
Always look on the right side of life
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow
So always look on the bright side of death
A just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughin' as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the right side of life
(C'mon Brian, cheer up)
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
I mean, what have you got to lose?
You know, you come from nothing
You're going back to nothing
What have you lost? Nothing
Always look on the right side of life
Nothing will come from nothing, ya know what they say
Cheer up ya old bugga c'mon give us a grin (Always look on the right side of life)
There ya are, see
It's the end of the film
Incidentally this record's available in the foyer (Always look on the right side of life)
Some of us got to live as well, you know
(Always look on the right side of life)
Who do you think pays for all this rubbish
(Always look on the right side of life)
They're not gonna make their money back, you know
I told them, I said to him, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back
(Always look on the right side of life) -

hell yes! @mclaincausey. I love Lyrics born and Chali2na.
A couple years back when my wife and I went to New Orleans it just so happened LB & C2na were playing at Tipitinas like a half mile from our Air bnb. My wife didn't feel good so i went solo.
at 3:33 of this video I'm on the very left of the screen rocking my 25oz xhs vest, fairy tipsy but not wasted like the guy to right of me. He was annoying as F*ck the entire show.
-
I found out about LB when he was touring with Galactic. I think it was Cabooze in MPLS. Another Galactic tie in, was supposed to see Chali2na with Galactic when we moved to LA for 6 weeks before COVID scuttled our trip. Got to see him up close and personal at a J5 show at Red Rocks. He’s a great photographer and painter in addition to the mic skills.
One more Galactic tie in: Erica Falls has recorded and toured with them too.
