IHSH-284-IND - 6oz Wabash Short Sleeved Work Shirt - Indigo
-
I gave mine a hand wash on Memorial Day because it was starting to stink pretty bad after the hikes. I was letting it air out in the sun afterwards… didn’t do the job after a week. I did notice a slight shrink but nothing super dramatic. I washed with tap water by hand and then tossed in the dryer on warm to finish drying. I do like how the wabby feels post wash. Looks like it’s going to rain for the next few days here. I’ll get a fit pic up once I go out hiking again in it.
Curious to see how boil part 2 works Filthy Are you just doing a fan dry? Or are you going to put in a machine?

@Filthy:
Giving them a second boil as I type this…
How did #2 turn out? What kind of shrinkage in length did you get? Thanks for this
-
Please let me get back to you about this… I need to find a measuring tape.
-
This fabric needs to be made in long sleeve.

Thanks sabergirl This shirt is something special. Is all wabby like this? If it is… I’m in trouble
I agree with Ann, this looks like a smaller gauge, finer version of the 12oz. The way the light blue/silvery tones start appearing with a wash is very similar, the smooth flat hand all look right. I’m working in my wabby painter pants right now and they are taking a kicking. Looking forward to showing the results after a wash.

A lighter weight long sleeve wabash shirt would be very nice.

I remembered I forgot to measure the shirt for you last night when I saw someone wearing it at the meetup… As far as I can tell it didn't shrink at all. Pit to pit is still a 24.5 on my 3xl. Sorry about that @urrrrgrrrr
-
…and no changes on the body length, right?
I've got it in my mind to shorten the length with a tailor but that gets me into a whole other world I am not yet familiar with...
-
I don't think it shrank in the length either.

I bought this beauty off @Clint_D while visiting cool Austin and now have a story share.
Yesterday rode my bike around town for errands with the 284 in full glory. I was going about 50 km/h when I sensed the bottom button came undone and felt the lower shirt flap a bit in the wind. As I started gradually slowing down to pull off to the right to set that button straight, the rest of the buttons started coming undone in very quick upward succession. By the time I pulled over I only had 2 buttons still holding on (buttons 2 and 3 counting downwards, I rarely button the top one)!
If I ever make the news for indecent exposure while in IH gear, you know the involuntary reason. In the meantime, I guess I need to reduce the size of the buttonholes, or get slightly larger buttons in there. Option 2 seems easier but those black buttons are beautiful and I’d hate to lose them.
Anyone else have anything similar happen to them with this shirt?

Honestly this for me is the kne that got away. Baddest looking shirt around, especially if you've got tattooed arms

Not with this shirt but I have an IHSH-130 that was prone to the same. I but a couple of stitches into each buttonhole to make them slightly smaller. Easy, if time-consuming fix.
