Coronavirus (Covid-19) Discussion

Stalking bonefish in skinny a mangrove backwater opening (I christened the spot Bono, because The Edge was just around the corner ), Phillip suddenly freezes and points, and then came out with one of his more memorable quotes…... "Fuck me to tears, look at the size of dat Bone"...All me and my other friend could do, was piss ourselves laughing, no cast was made...
Brilliant story. I will raise a glass tomorrow evening. Losing friends is awful, sorry mate.

Oh gosh @Giles that is devastating. You have my sympathies.
-
Really sorry to hear that @Giles
-
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your fishing buddy @Giles .

Who knows what will come of this, but it sounds legit: this could neutralize the entire genus that COVID belongs to, meaning that the mutations we've seen to date and likely in the near future would be crippled. This is the kind of finding, should it become widely available, that I have been pushing back the inevitable infection as long as possible for.

Our condolences Giles & Paula.

Today I got my third Covid vaccine. After my standard 1 & 2 doses of Astra Zeneca, I took the opportunity to get a ‘booster’ shot of Pfizer. My doctor thinks it is a good idea since they are different types/mechanisms between the two vaccines, and I don’t have access to mRna vaccines back in my country where I return tomorrow.
Hope everybody here stays healthy!

motojobobo Man, good for you being proactive. I actually didn’t know you could change which vaccine you got as the booster.
mclaincausey Thanks for posting that article. I keep hoping there will be a “scientific breakthrough “ type of silver lining to this pandemic. Maybe this and the mRNA delivery system could be it.

my deepest condolences to you @Giles

This morning my Uncle John lost his battle with Covid. In the past year and change. He’s battled and beat cancer flare ups 3 different times. Was in experimental programs for new drugs and treatments. And then a week ago caught it and now he’s gone. John was a Marine and was a drill Sargent for a while too. He had a commanding voice that could travel so far. Growing up we’d always ask him to give us the instructions and my bro and I would march around a living room. We thought we were so cool. Thanks for the great memories John.

@Fadez I don’t know you but I’m so sorry to hear that. John sounds like a fuckin badass and I’m sure you’ve got some great memories. Sending my condolences to you and your family x
