IHSH-266-IND - 12oz Wabash Work Shirt - Indigo

In mine opinion it’s also the material of a wabash shirt and the way of how the shirt is dyed that gives it a more bulky feel and look, the material is a little crispy and will stay that way, at least that’s mine opinion. Overall the shirt will shrink in length and chest as stated on the website with warm washes. Hopefully you guys find the right way to shrink it and will wear the hell out of them. Enjoy it buddies!

Holy shit I just gave myself a heart attack…
Received this shirt yesterday and wore it for the first time today. As it's my first IH work shirt, and I have a closet full of westerns, my instinct when I was undressing to take a shower was the give the shirt an almighty yank to feel the satisfying pop pop pop pop pop of the snaps breaking free...
Somehow the buttons stayed in place and the fabric remained in tact but damn, I felt bad for putting such strain on my new baby!
Forgive me denim gods

Haha… done that myself. Impressive when the buttons hold though. Polycotton for the win.

@Dr.:
Well met gentlemen, I have a question. I am the proud owner of this and it's a little bigger around the torso than the other larges I have(IHSH-317-IND,IHSH-317-YEL,IHSH-290-RED,IHSH-290-KHA). I'm looking to shrink it a little without affecting the material too much. Would it be better to shrink from warm/hot water and hang dry or wash cold and put it a dryer? I love the material and would rather do nothing than risk damaging the shirt. Any insight would be apperciated.
I just wanted to follow up on this…I found a Medium from a US Stockist during the Black Friday sales and was able to snag one for around $230. The Medium fits MUCH better on my frame. I am 5'10" around 170lbs and I was really struggling with all the extra fabric in the body of the Large. I always order Large UHF, I am Large in all other IH Westerns and even have a few UHF Work Shirts in Large, but the Wabash is an entirely different cut it seems. the Medium is spot on...perfect! I will post pics this evening, but if the dryer method doesn't work for you, I can confirm that the Medium is plenty roomy but just appears less bulky and blousy than the Large. It is worth a shot!

The work shirt cut is most certainly roomier than the western cuts.

In general, yes, when comparing UHF to UHF, but my point is that the Wabash is a completely different animal altogether. The Wabash Work Shirt is much roomier (especially in the body) than the UHF Work Shirt in the exact same tag size.

The ‘do not go by tag size alone’ advice is pure gold. Take the time to study the detailed measurement tables on every garment, and compare to the measurements on your best fitting garments at home.

After getting close to a half-inch of shrinkage with a hot soak, mine was still a little roomier than I liked. So I hydrated the shirt again and put it through the gentle cycle on hot (took it out before the spin cycle). After that, it was a good 3/4" smaller across the waist and in the sleeve than when I received it. Most importantly, much of the excess fabric in the back is now gone and I'm happier with the fit now.
Also glad that I didn't size down because if I ever had to put a smaller size through the wash, the shoulders probably would've been borderline-too small.
Really awesome shirt. Will post fade pics when late spring arrives.
