@Filthy thanks for that explanation on the shiny jeans. I wanted to reply much sooner but work keeps getting in the way. Just got my pair of these hemmed so hopefully will get my wife to take some fit pics today and I can post.

Looking forward to it.

Picked mine up on Friday. Gave them a bathtub soak at about 50C for one hour with a little agitation. Here are the numbers:
New Post soak
W: 33.4" 32.7"
FR: 12.2" 12"
BR: 16.5" 16.1"
TH: 13.4" 12.9"
KN: 9.3" 9"
HE: 8.1" 7.9"
IN: 32.6" 31.9"Pretty pleased with that. There may be more shrinkage with a proper wash in the machine but that will be the agitation rather than the temps as I will never wash these above 40C, the point being it won't be much at all. Fit pics on Monday.
This is tremendous denim. It has the dry, matte, inky characteristics of SBG with the edge taken off by the indigo. The way the XHS is so saturated with dye is more of game changer than I though it would be as far as the appearance and feel of the denim is concerned (when compared to the standard 25oz).

The waist stretches fast… but I did wear an undershirt tucked in to protect my skin on the first 3 wears.
This denim seems less ornery than the original XHS to me... after 2 years in my original XHS, they didnt feel as comfy as these do after just 5 wears...
Prepare to be in awe of the swift fading!

I've had my XHS for three years now and they've had a kicking. Coming up on 300 wear days and a lot of them were spent carrying concrete blocks a couple of summers ago. They are approaching pj status. But I think you're right. Just pulling mine on today I felt the thigh loosen during the five mins I had them on. I'm excited I have to say…

While I’m on it, this is the ultimate tool for those tricky first buttonings. My first pair took about 30mins and cost me some skin and serious tendon fatigue every time I had to button/unbutton the fuckers. With this little fella it took me 60 seconds and was practically painless. To be honest it felt like I was cheating. IHUK should offer them as an up-sell with every pair of XHS… [emoji1]

@Filthy That video was hilarious but man, I have to admit that the disk encrypt stuff terrifies me, and I'm pretty careful! Every time my computer takes too long to respond I think "Someone's somehow encrypted my file system! Oh, wait, that program was just lagging, nevermind!"
@neph93 Finally!
@UnTucked Agree on that stretching! After three wears my waist went from 31.5" to 32" and the thigh went from 12.25" to 12.6". Still tough as nails though!

Got mine in Thursday, really impressed with this denim! The fit is really nice, also I didn't size down like I've done with other 25oz.
Definitely 100% glad I pulled the trigger on these. First experience with the 888 and i gotta say its a pretty great cut. I can't wait to wear these alot[emoji41]

Yes, they are such great jeans.

These remind me of my SExIH13 34s. Instakop otherwise. These are fantastic. The 888 fit pics help for someone coming from the 666/634. Is the ass pucker less in these than the 666/634? Seems to be an IH trademark. What kind of ass/seat model ya'll working with? I've never had so much material back there in any jean I've ever worn and it's clearly visible in the brand new fit pics with these and I have a healthy amount of…matter...on the matter.
Ps. My tight AF 666 UHR are a perfect example...almost too tight in the waste band and thigh...and still the TM IH ass pucker right dab in the middle of the seat area.

Wearing these today. Been a busy week at work so they stayed in the closet, didn’t want to have to think about my pants. Not sure if they relax with time, even when not being worn? Decided to wear them today (son puked on my 1955s, thanks buddy) and they can definitely just be treated as regular pants now, albeit stiff as hell pants. No struggles getting them on or buttoned, and sitting doesn’t feel like being under a 400lb squat with a lifting belt on.
Going to add some to the echo chamber: these things are epic and we haven’t even nearly arrived at our destination. I feel a bit like I underpaid for these, which sound ridiculous given what they cost. However, I’m getting that rare opposite of buyers remorse feeling: I knew they’d be good, I knew they’d be $450 good, but I still underestimated just how good they’d be.

Finally got some fit pics today. I’m a low riding jeans kind of guy so I’m still getting used to the higher rise. Makes my swamp ass a little more pronounced.
-
I think those may be at least one size too big, @deanclean.

I was thinking the same thing.
Do they feel loose to you, Dean? Not everyone wants a fitted feel but these will only stretch with use, so you might not want to go with a loose fit to start.

@sabergirl @Paul9221 they do look big in the photos. The waist isn’t too big though. They are a 36 and the 34’s would be too small for me for sure. I’ve only cold soaked them so maybe I should give them a hot soak and see if that helps at all.

@neph93 looks like those fit perfect
