Some of you may know that travelling is one of my passions (IG @travellang), and a way I very much like is travelling with a camperbus. I basically grew up in an Volkswagen T2, that my father had turned into a camper and we roamed the Mediterranean countries in the 70s.
Later I had a Volkswagen T4 Caravelle when my kids were young and we also went down there.
And at last I had a Volkswagen T4 California, almost 30 years old, but in a very good condition. Some of you saw it at the 2022 meeting in Gosport. We did trips to 14 countries in it, including a visit to @neph93 in Northern Norway.
in France
at the Arctic Circle
in the Alps
But this beauty turned more and more into a bottomless pit financially, and also I'm old and need more space. So, last year I sold it and some weeks ago I bought a pretty new and bigger van, that now needs to be turned into a camper.
It's a 2022 Peugeot Boxer L4H2 with 165 hp, a length of more than 6 meter and a hight that I can stand inside. But it's just a raw metal box.
Works will probably be going on forever, but a first trip is planned for June. Until then it should be in a state that we can sleep inside. Hopefully, Mrs E and I will come in it to the Gosport meeting in September.
So, if you like follow me developing this thing, and hopefully on many trips with it.

looks like enough space for 5 more passengers
just cancelled flights for September
You can pick us up at Wildeshausen -
@ARNC loot from Gosport, yes - but @Daniel-San forget it. There will be a strict '2-person-rule' for this bus. I'm too old for this shit.

Looking forward to following this thread and your travel photography page on Instagram. I had a ‘77 Westfalia in the 90’s … good memories. Someone said to me when I bought it “you didn’t buy a vehicle, you bought a hobby.” Pretty accurate in my case. My wife drives a ‘90 Volvo 240 wagon that seems to be turning more and more into a hobby lately.
I don’t see too many Peugeots here on the west coast of Canada, but have always admired them. That’s a nice space to work with and can’t wait to see how it comes along. Happy creations!

@endo I look forward to seeing how this renovation unfolds! I spent a lot of my childhood in a camper up and down the UK and France, so this warms my heart
Thanks for sharing the journey! -
thanks @Denman-John, ‘77 Westfalia and '90 Volvo 240 wagon are both cars I admire. The good thing about the Peugeot Boxer, it's the same car as the Fiat Ducato, the Citroen Jumper and the Opel Movano, the most built transporter in Europe for the last 20 years. So, you basically get everything for it and garages all over Europe are familiar with it.

@endo that is a champ move, well done!
I was about to ask ‘why a Peugeot’ cause I didn’t know about them but you just answered that one.
165 hp sounds aplenty…guessing it must be quite more powerful that your past VWs? -
Looks like a lot of fun! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
