Watches - another OCD problem
-
@louisbosco it’s odd how that’s their policy. I’ve always found that to be over the top.
-
@Mizmazzle yeah they're very pedantic about such stuff. I've barely worn my bracelet in 10 years. in the end, took it to a ex Rolex service guy..
-
@louisbosco said in Watches - another OCD problem:
Rolex wouldn't service my watch without the OG bracelet.
Up their own arses....
Blancpain did not mind my cheapo Chinese rubber strap, even refinished the (OG Blancpain buckle) that was on it
-
@Giles seems like blancpain is the way to go

I got my Chronosport UDT Sea Quartz back from repair today. I couldn’t be happier. It’s working perfectly. After buying it broken, sending it to Australia, paying for repair and service, and then return shipping to me in Canada it became an expensive project. But I really don’t know any watch that isn’t!
-
@deanclean I have always loved the UDT and have several anadigi watches because of it. It’s just the epitome of everything 80’s watch culture. Love it so much!
-
Thanks @Anesthetist im really enjoying it. It’s my first anadigi and hopefully not my last!
-
@deanclean now you need an OG Arnie
I’ll try to get some pictures of my collection for tomorrow
-
Fantasic @Mizmazzle !
Have had this Steelfish for about 14 years now. Still runs and looks great.

Love the No RAD dial Giles.

I was in Melbourne on Wednesday for a couple of appointments, and I had a bit of free time before the train after my dentist cancelled on me, so I went watch browsing.
Omega is good at getting new models into their boutiques quickly, and they had the First Omega in Space on display. It's a very pretty piece, and a bit smaller than the regular Speedmaster. I particularly like how the sapphire crystal is ground to match the shape of the Hesalite in the originals. It's got the modern 3861 movement, so Master Chronometer certified, antimagnetic, etc. I like it, though I'd have to compare it with the white Speedy.
The Hour Glass had the (deep breath) Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT Zulu Time x Marine Nationale, which is a titanium cased GMT diver and pilot's watch hybrid. It's got fixed lugs machined into the case, and the salesman described it as basically indestructible. The movement is Master Chronometer rated, like the Omega, which is probably a step up on big brother Rolex's regime. I liked it too.
They also had the Rolex Yacht-Master in titanium on display. These came out a while back, but my understanding is that sanctions on Russia has made it harder to get hold of the metal (despite Tudor having no problems), and that has constrained production. I prefer it to the other professional models, as it's a bit more stealth. I just wish they'd made a no-date version, like Ben Ainslie's original prototype.
The Hour Glass is a Patek dealer, but they didn't have the Cubitus on display. Apparently, they have a "not for sale" piece arriving in the next few weeks, and I'm planning on going down to see it.
-
@Graeme I had the original FXD on my wrist right now and I love it. I would get the GMT as well if it wasnt so similar.
-
@Mizmazzle it’s a shame what they have done to their pricing. My first Speedy was like 2700ish and a special edition. The FOIS is hot AF tho.
-
@JDelage. For sure man that Tudor FXD GMT is on my radar also. Killer watch!
-
I was surprised no one posted about that thing earlier. I love it.
