@Mizmazzle thanks man, I love your pachena bays. Definitely had me considering those with all your pics. The 310 was definitely a little out of my wheelhouse but the wife approved so easy pick.
-
@Mizmazzle those look great, how long have you had them. This is definitely my last boot for awhile haha…..hopefully
-
@Mizmazzle that #8 shell is smokin man!
-
@Mizmazzle Too funny, I just started wearing my Scuffed #8's (2030) again, recently. In my head they were much more formal looking and more burgundy like my #8 CXL's.
I broke them out a couple weeks ago, and just fell in love with the color, and found they dress down with no problems at all. Not sure why the dressier thing ever entered my head.
And like you, I think they might be my best fitting pair of boots too. They've been getting lots of on feet time lately...just love them.
-
@Brodie I can understand what you mean about them feeling a bit "Dressy." i felt that exact same way at first too. I'm used to wearing engineers or more rugged work boot styles. But I always wanted some shell boots so I jumped on these when i had the chance.
They are a bit on the dressier side I suppose, but I like having a boot that fills that spot. Like you said, with a bit of wear I don't feel like they are super dressy anymore...though I don't beat them to hell like my other boots....even though I know they could take it AND look the better for it!
@Brandrea thanks brother man!! It was instant love when I saw them!
-
@Mizmazzle Ya, I think there were a few factors that lead to my initial feelings. It was my first pair of Shell, so it just "felt" dressier. And all those little eyelets (I'm more of a 7-eyelet guy), combined with the color, had me feeling they were more formal.
Glad I saw the light a couple weeks ago. I've worn mine so little, they still look relatively new. Your photos have inspired me to keep wearing them consistently, though...your's looks fantastic! Hopefully I'll get there soon enough.
Cheers!

I just messaged Viberg and this is the response I got … looks like they can’t make the 310’s in Shell
-
@Brandrea damn, maybe that figure it out but thank you for reaching out to them and clarifying.
-
@Mizmazzle those shells are amazing and the donkey punchers are on the want list, pretty sure I’d have to go to congress for those too at this point.
-
Waxy Commander is so good.
The 2030 Chelsea is so good.
I have brown and black variants.Ideal shoe for travel since you can pop em on and off at security and since they can handle all conditions. And they look smart enough for all but the most formal settings.
-
@Mizmazzle I really like the toe cap on your 310’s and think it really ties it together. Most of the sites I’ve checked only carry the plain toe variant. The patina on them looks incredible. Are those the original leather laces that came with the boots?
-
@Mizmazzle Like I said, damn near boxfresh. But we'll consider this a starting point on the road to lookin like yours...
-
@Denman-John these are Guarded Goods leather laces. I wasn’t a fan of the OG laces that came the boots.

That aligns with what I had read anecdotally. Apparently, Viberg in the past tried doing some 310 boots in horsehide, not even shell, to disastrous results. The leather was repeatedly tearing due to the required pulling to stretch it across the structured bump toe, a problem that would only be exacerbated with shell.
