My admonishment was sharp and loud. You could have heard a pin drop afterwards.
Im guessing you werent wearing dinosaur crocs.

@Mizmazzle just got to keep on, keeping on. Hope it’s not so bad in your neck of the woods

@J-IV lotta nervous folks about. I work in Aurora, Colorado. Which has been one of the target cities mentioned in speeches and on the news a lot. We have a very large immigrant community in the neighborhoods surrounding my school. We just try our best to create a caring environment that fosters compassion and growth.

The US is beyond effed right now. We had a great run.

Rest of the free world is heading in the same direction. But I guess that's no consolation.
I always turn to Alan Watts' old lectures when I feel somewhat daunted.

How a black man can be a literal Nazi is beyond the pale. (See what I did there?)
Ye has major Clayton Bigsby energy.

@mclaincausey that will always be one of the funniest pieces by Chappelle. Always reminds me of this one as well:
Ooooh the racism, it's killing me inside

@seawolf I see both sides of this. You are really "lucky" that you have the ability to cook interesting things for yourself without fussing too much. Don't forget that people would love to have your skills.
So many people struggle to be able to cook for themselves, or need to closely follow a recipe which make it more time consuming to cook at home.
I have many friends and a sibling that order door dash once or twice a day because cooking is a hassle or they "just don't cook".
Your rant reminds me of a meme that constantly comes across my feed. something like, " I didn't realize one of the hardest parts about being an adult is figuring what to eat for dinner EVERY NIGHT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE"!!!"
I also work around food and am constantly planning meals. But new ideas are hard to come by sometimes. When we make our shopping list its greens, veggies and fruits, healthy meats and nuts. not always easy to cook new exciting things.
Our go to lazy night meal is a sheet pan of roasted veggies and seasoning boneless skinless chicken thighs. I turn on the rice cooker once or twice a week too as a carb and use leftovers to make fried rice.

While we are at it. Making your own sandwiches is a misery. I have no discipline to follow it through and sit down to eat. I end up doing my second sandwich while eating the first ...and even that is a lie cos I'm 100% eating the first sandwich while I'm making it.
