Spend three days with the in-laws who are remodeling their familial home of 25 years…
Which means my wife’s gears start turning, and I end up with this in my hands lol

I’ve never removed tile flooring… but ask me in about 10 days and I’m guessing I’ll be a master.
Thankfully we on on piers, so I don’t have to jackhammer it off a slab..

I like the faucet.
My condolences on the flooring. I hate laying that down.

Cruised out to the wood with the kiddos and found some Chanterelles!

They look really good, and cool to teach the kids which ones are the good ones.
Nice little adventure -
Thanks guys! It was a great day!
Appfaff all you need is a good local mushroom book. There’s plenty of edible plants and mushrooms in your neck of the woods. One of my friends who has taught me a lot moved up here from Florida

that needs to get on a menu at your food truck park! vegan burrito bowl (save the sour cream top left)

Haha! Yea, I just lease space to the food carts… I don’t have any influence on food other than they can’t compete with the same dishes...

Some pics from my 5-day motorcycle trip thru the mountains to the salt flats in Uyuni
Roadside shops on the way there. Good for snacks, water and a break from the sun.
Mostly dry, arid mountains with some greener valleys in the mix. This is around 2000 mts altitude.
We stayed at a nice hotel on the edges of the salt flats. Hotels are at 30% of normal rates due to Covid slump. We’re at 3800 mts here.
This salt sculpture was erected on 2006, first year the Dakar Rally included Bolivia. Rains are doing their thing on the top of the touareg’s head and it looks like we’ll let it drip away.
These are the typical hexagons which form every year once the standing rain water dries up and the topmost salt layer expands. I think I’ve seen the same physical process in tundra as it freezes and thaws. Maybe the high latitude folks know more about this cool phenomena.

Envious Moto - looks glorious!

Old trains left to rot away
A decrepit hanging bridge. Not in use anymore and mostly a photog backdrop nowadays.
Typical mountain road scenery and vehicles. Good roads, clear/cool/cold air, and very little traffic…makes for outstanding motorcycle opportunities.
