Awesome, thanks @louisbosco.
So if that logic translates directly to me then XXL should be my size. I ordered an XL and an XXL and I'll ship back the one that doesn't work out.

@manufc10 hope yours arrive soon.

Arrived today. This thing is a ridiculously good looking jacket…...such a beauty. XL fits but just over a T and theres not much wiggle plus the length is too short for my liking. XXL is where its at for me on this one. Perfect for layering. I'm an XL in most IH work shirts for reference.

After a little back and forth with UPS. Finally got it. Couldn’t be happier. Feels great. Also compared to my 76 CPO this denim is so soft. Maybe I need to wash my CPO a few times. Gonna wear the hell out of this thing. I’m sure it’ll kind of relax and conform within the next week so it has a less billowy feel to it. All in all. Very happy. Thanks for the chocolates and note. Hope IHUK has a Happy Christmas and holiday season! -
@Fadez Great fit!
Mine arrived today too and I couldn’t be happier. I didn’t have any reference in other IH gear, so it took a little back and forth to find a good fit, but I’m glad I made the effort.
I was surprised by the softness of the denim as well - it’s so comfortable to wear straight away!

I wonder which jacket is heavier pound for pound, the SL or the SR?

I would assume a woolen blanket to be heavier than a synthetic fleece and obviously 18oz > 17oz, but of course these are just a couple of factors.

@Fadez looks great mate

I think your fit is perfect and I don’t think it looks billowy at all. I felt the same way about the SR at first too though so I get it.

Pipeboss713 I totally feel you. That’s why I chose to size up to fit all my layers underneath. Would you mind taking a pic with just a T or single layer underneath? I think it would be good to show a true TTS fit pic. These are true type III that want to live higher up on the waist and tight to the chest. For me, I went the opposite route with the size up and baggier fit. It doesn’t allow the best movement all around, but damn does it keep you warm and look great too.
Here’s mine with a border tee, IH hoodie, and a UHF underneath. Winter advisory weather. It’s a snowy, icy, and rainy day.
I know sweats right? But doctors appointment and running errands. This be the way. I also have to mention, long underwear + IH sweats are the comfiest in the snow. Happy Winter northern hemisphere folks [emoji3587]️ -
Saw this in the Rivet and Hide shop window yesterday. It looked amazing.

Showing this thread some love too. This is how I envisioned the SL. Over the J-38 (now J-75). When I was really moving on the hike, I unbuttoned and then half zipped the jacket. After a rest I needed to close it all back up again because it started snowing again and got cold. Super duper toasty. Easily handled 32F / 0C. I’ve also worn this top combo at 19F / -7C with my 633S and long johns (also both temperatures versions have Under Armour Cold Gear as the base layers) and was fine.After wearing for a little while. It’s such a warm jacket. I got this to really toss over anything and be warm. This jacket can 100% stand on its own without the need for a hoodie or other jacket underneath. I sized up one to accommodate very cold weather in the Pennsylvania winters. But if you’re not dealing with sub freezing temperatures and crazy wind chill. You can size TTS and be very very comfortable. This is my first owned type 3 and I love it. After about 10 wears it really softened up and was much easier to be mobile in. I’m sure if I sized L it would grant me even more since the shoulders would be a bit tighter and allow more range of motion. But I don’t see myself reaching up for any work or action (and then accounting for years down the line weight gains) so I’m quite pleased on my fit and size. All in all. Glorious jacket. So happy to wear this beast for the rest of my life!

Such a good outfit dude, and this jacket is the bomb. If I hadn’t picked up both an N1 and the lefty this year I would have snagged this for sure
