Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

@Filthy:
zippers always manage to come partially undone for me. Even the ones that fold down and lock seem to unzip halfway depending how I'm sitting. I love the convenience of zips but buttons stay buttoned for me, so I prefer them.
The zipper never came open on it's own on my 822 double knee engineers or my overalls. I'd still be wearing those now if the thighs weren't so slim on them. I would have gotten a bigger size of those but the waist is way too big then.
To be fair, my comment had to do with non-IH jeans, but the brands were definitely reputable.

@Giles I tried to scroll back but I got lost In other peoples reverse conversations and gave up. I recall seeing a photo of a sketchbook a couple months back that included a short sleeve CPO (green?). I would absolutely slam dunk one of those in my cart with rim shaking authority.
Is this a real future product? Any more info if so? Thanks for all you do on here, I can’t believe you take time away from your day job to please us forum fella’s and fell-ettes.

Those pictures generally come from Haraki-san’s sketchbook/iPad. He posts them on IG and they appear to be advanced stage design work. I say advanced stage because by far and away most of the things we see there become real the following season. So that bodes well for your short sleeved CPO.
I notice that IH will be doing sneak previews of their SS20 collection (that I assume that shirt is a part of), in Berlin and NYC shortly. Perhaps we’ll see more then.

There was a wabash one about six years ago and about four years ago three came out together, two in chino and one in light denim. They were Japanese seasonal products and as @Paul9221 says didn’t do all that well. As a result IHUK won’t be pushing to do them again. Haraki-san may revisit them at some point though, so never say never.
@mister_m you can find them in the Extinct section if you want a look at how IH did them.

@neph93 @Paul9221 I feel like chore coats can be really successful. stevenson's heartland jacket and tellason's coverall jacket sell really well for example, so I don't think it's just a matter of people not wanting chore coats. Imo, chore coats are drapey and look best when they have a simple profile, such as tonal stitching and minimal pouch-like pockets. They can't give off a tough-guy look. I think that the new 14oz SBG fabric could possibly make a really nice chore coat.

I would love them to be successful! And while I understand that there's a profit to be had, I would like to think that IH is also about making great clothes, even if they're not fully appreciated in their time, so I hope IH does revisit them.
Also, I adore pockets. One of my favorite jackets is the OD M65 because it has like 8 pockets

While there is obviously a crossover in the customers for the brands you mention they are very different in their approaches, inspiration and style to IH. Personally chore coats aren’t really my thing, although the IH wabash version is beautiful. As I say they may come around again some day.

I think people look to IH and the other brands you mentioned for different products. Stevenson offers more "quirky" / experimental kind of stuff, in addition to basics, from what I've seen. If IH can only offer so many outerwear pieces, I'd hate for one to be a chore coat. It's just a boring, over done piece IMO. I realize many of IH's offerings are classics like chore coats, but it's just preference.

How about camo cargo shorts?

Ooh, the camo pattern they made for a couple of items before would make rad shorts IMO, though IH has played with tiger stripe and other patterns too:

I've been wanting an off-white denim vest lately. The only company that makes a decent one is Carhartt WIP, however their version is made of canvas and the cut is puffy looking. I think a cream colored 21oz type III vest would be awesome. I would buy one right now if it were available.

As you know, I would buy all kinds of Shorts. Preferably olive drab and swedish camo (like above). Also offwhite / Ecru would be cool.
