IHTL-1501 - Extra Heavy Cotton Knit Crew Neck Sweater

WHITE, BLACK, OLIVE & CREAM - RESTOCKING ON FRIDAY 22 JULY AT 1600BST

Woohoo!
2 questions:
How does this compare to the IHTL-1700-BLK?
I own a couple IHTB-01's, are they the same material/weave as this one? -
Completely different. This is a heavy, pretty unforgiving cotton knit, the 1700 has a softer more thermal feel….
Ok so its much more like the IHTB-01 then?

Just got mine in. I am amazed that this is only 11oz. I have some supposed 13oz "tee shirt" material long sleeves and this thing is by far heavier. For being in the mid atlantic, this will be a fall/winter sweater for me until it gets down low enough to break out the thermals and heavy coats. Can't say I'll need more than one, as the cut and fit is trim but not large enough for me to layer something under (XXL). So I will still wear this more like a long sleeve tee personally.

@scarfmace very soon, will hopefully have a definitive date next week
@Crispy Heron As for navy, you may be in luck later this year
Are new colors later this year still a possibility? The mentioned navy and grey would look great!

Thinking of getting this shirt or the 1700 or 1301… I live in a warmer climate and am looking for something that can be worn 3-4 seasons... which long sleeve shirt would you all say is the lightest of the bunch?
And in terms of stretchiness of the fabric I'm assuming 1501 is less stretchy than the 1700, and 1700 is less stretchy than the 1301?

I often see other t shirts advertising their weight in terms of gsm. How much is this 11 oz shirt in terms of gsm, for comparison purposes.
-
oz per square yard, as opposed to grams per square meter.
now you do the mathif you want to cheat, here's a comparison chart, it's 373gsm:

I have some real time numbers for you @Jbailla2.
My Freenote cloth 13oz tee shirt weighs 295 grams
My Iron Heart 1600 (same fabric in this thread but SS weighs 470 grams).
My 1501 weighs 570 grams.
Both shirts feel much more substantial than the Freenote, I truly don’t know how Freenote comes up with the 13oz number. This is one of the reasons IH is hard to show on screen. It’s amazing in person to see touch and feel. One of my favorite parts of getting something new is the wow factor since i haven’t had a retailer within 500 miles (till very recently).

Incredible fabric and the silhouette is spot on perfect.

https://fashion-incubator.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/gsm_to_oz_yd_2.pdfOk, so what you're saying is that the 11 ounces (311.8 grams) being advertised for this shirt is actually ounces per square yard rather than the weight one of square meter of fabric. The excerpt from the Merz B Schwanen FAQ copied below would indicate that an 11 oz fabric is 311.8 gsm which translates to 9.20 oz/square yard in your linked conversion chart as well as this calculator… https://www.ginifab.com/feeds/ozyd2_gm2/.
"What does the weight in the product description mean?
Fabric weight is measured per m² of fabric. For example, with a weight of 200 grams (7,1oz) per m², this means that a 1 meter wide and 1 meter long piece of fabric weighs 200 grams (7,1oz) "So, if it's 11 ounces per square yard, the shirt is 373 gsm (13.1 ounce fabric weight).
If it's 11 ounces in fabric weight, it's 311.8 gsm (9.2 ounces per square yard).Either way, I own and love the shirt…I'm just trying to compare the weight against other brands and have a point of reference.
