I've always wanted a W10 but didn't want to go down the vintage route.Decided today that this is the watch I want after liking Hamilton for a long time. I have to say I balked a bit when I saw the price tag as it seems steep compared to their other mechanical offerings. It is an absolute beaut though. Congrats @DougNg.

I'm not sure I'd go for it. If you look at G-Shock "collabs", all they do is slap someone else's logo somewhere on the watch.
I wouldn't buy a watch because it has MORE branding. What if it was made out of 25oz denim? [emoji848]

I thought about the price of the Khaki Mechanical Pilot, and for the extra couple hundred dollars, I think it might be ok considering that you get a a total 100m water resistance vs 50 on the Field watch (I get a nervous twitch with anything less than that), and there really isn't anything like it on the market case shape wise or size wise unless you want to get a ladies watch. I'm not particularly happy with the mineral crystal, we'll see how it holds up. I may wind up seeing if I can find an aftermarket sapphire crystal in the future.
For me it was a no brainer since I have been hoping for a reissue of the W10 for years.

Thanks for that. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m not deep in the specs and details AS you or many others here. I gave a rough budget which this watch is slightly north of, but as you say, the aesthetic is pretty unique in todays marker and it gives me a semi. I’ll see what sort of damage I do the bank account in g’port in a couple of weeks and if that goes OK then this may be mine soon.

On my 6.75” wrist. Changed the strap out for a silicone nato. I have some nylon natos coming in from haveston and phenomenato coming in soon, as well as this coming in from japan

One thing to be aware of: it's smaller than most modern watches. You might want to try it on or something similar in size before purchasing it. The website says it's 36x33. That's a little confusing, I think it's actually 36 across. I'm not sure why they're giving the other dimension.
I have been in love with this watch for years and the reissue is perfect. It really has been stripped down to the bare essentials and is the perfect minimalist watch in my opinion.
I have it on a grey Haveston NATO (just came in a couple hours ago), and the whole package is super low key but highly functional and comfortable.
If you get the watch, buy whichever is cheaper, both of the strap options suck. I'm not really happy with the leather strap that comes with it. Also: I paid full retail. By the time your birthday rolls around it should be a couple hundred bucks cheaper. I just had to buy it NOW because I've been lusting for it for so long.

I love how photos distort the apparent size of a watch on the wrist. I would never have guessed that's only a 36mm watch. It looks more like 40 or 42.

I really love the cushion case

Easier to understand and better taste in women, too.
