IH-555-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo

My pleasure! You may find that the size you currently have in the IH-555-01 works in XHS after all, but if you compare your worn jeans as they measure now, with the published measurements of XHS versions then you’ll be fine.
But my current model 555-01 with worn measurements is still a bit tight, should I go one size bigger on the XHS??
-
Sorry, I just meant that you should compare your worn 555-01 measurements to the XHS measurements and choose the right pair for you.
You may find that the smaller XHS are the right pair, because they may be slightly bigger than your current pair. It isn’t unusual for XHS versions to come up a little bigger.

That is exactly what I wanted to know. I really appreciate your time and help.

I agree with @sabergirl they do seem pretty tight. And larger measurements on your XHS would be a good idea I think. Especially in terms of comfort as the XHS it much less soft and forgiving.
How is the waist in the pictured pair? Can you afford to go bigger? With all due respect you look like you have well developed thighs. I had to leave the 555 after a few attempts as my pretty chunky thighs meant that getting the 555 to fit over them gave me a a waistband that was too big.
Happily the 888 came along. That cut, if sized properly, can give a similar silhouette to the 555 but with a little more room in the thigh and a better fitting waist.

the upper block is way too small. you don't want to deal with that for the long life of a pair of IH denim
-
Is it really that bad?
They are pretty tight. They are also your jeans so you should wear them however you like.
Tbh, my first of 555’s were only little more relaxed than that. I knew they were too tight but I wore the crap out of them and loved them anyway. I then sized up and tried a new cut with my next pair…
Well done for asking questions and posting pics.

XHS is a B to button even when they’re a little loose, def size up.

Hi everyone. I’m already a proud 555 owner in the 01 and 03…but I feel the lure of the 25oz is strong. Just wondered what people’s thoughts were on trying the heavier denim in the same cut that I’m used to, or do I try the 777 or 666? I’m a fan of the slimmer leg (I’m 6’2 and pretty slim so worry that wider legs might make me look ridiculous, but I know that could just be my own insecurities rather than any fault of the denim ). Added some fit pics in my 01 with 31 waist (which is a little loose). Would you guys stick with the sizing or size up for the heavier weight? Thank you in advance

Personally, I have the same predicament @discobeard I too only have IH jeans in the 555 cut, largely because I struck gold on my first IH trial at the lovely Rivet and Hide store. I am also tempted to dabble with other cuts, as the prospect of an even better fit is intriguing. Size wise, my 555-XHS and 555-03 are both 31'', I ended up with a 32'' in the 01, and they were for sure my snuggest fit to date. My two penneth, but the XHS if you are tempted, and I highly recommend them, seem to accommodate the extra weight of fabric without the need to up or downsize. The XHS are worthy jeans indeed. My fitment is driven by waist measurements, and these fabrics have all stretched by an inch and a bit, so buy them as snug on the waist as you can cope with. The fit just gets better by the hour. Measure your jeans, washed and unworn, and match up the XHS on the size charts. You'll be as close as you can in lieu of trying them on in person.
PS: Your 01's look like a great fit and are showing so lovely evo mate. Congrats!

@discobeard - looks like you have found your fit there - the O1's look spot on!
I started out with 777's but discovered and switched to the 555 by chance and prefer the higher waist and straighter line from the knee to the hem.
Now I tend to go for the same sizing in the different type of denims, if I need to make a tweak for shrinkage or weight I just send the optimum measurements to the crew and they check the batch for the closet match.
Nice patina on the belt by the way!

Thanks mate!
Yeah I think I would have to opt for the 31 again. I am excited that they’re a year old and only just getting started - most of my jeans need retired after a year

Thanks man. I saw a photo of the belt when it was new the other day - crazy how much they improve. Thanks for the input…now I just need to decide if I get a new shirt too...

get the shirt man, you know you need one.
Plus I agree with the rest of the people, you basically hit the Lotto with that cut.
