I use wooden hangers I collected quite on accident (laziness) from Mulberry dry cleaners in Minneapolis. They are typical wooden hangers suitable for suits, pants, etc, and shirts do absolutely fine on them–no need to overthink it.
I think I have a wooden hanger from Mulberry's laying around somewhere too

Who is/was LandoCal126 and why did he start all the OG threads?

He was extremely active in the denim forums world and a nice guy.
Actually he convinced me that 21oz denim would soften up with wear and that is
when I bought my first pair.I think he was living on the west coast but moved to New York if I recall.
When I first joined up here back in 2010 he and a few others were the main contributors to this forum.

I've been meaning to order a set of these hangers. But they are from Aliexpress so it seems like they probably wouldn't arrive.

I ordered a bunch of these hangers a while ago (https://www.hangerstore.com/wooden-suit-hangers.php). Nice quality, consistent, they've got a bit of curve to fill out the shoulders better, and made my closet all match…

when you go to the restroom and there is liquid soap, do you wet your hands and then apply the soap or do you apply the soap and then wet your hands?
what, it's random questions, where else would this go
¯_(ツ)_/¯
oh and do you wash your hands before and after you conduct your restroom bizness or is that just me? my logic is when out in the world I touch all kinds of stuff that a bunch of people have touched before me and then I touch and the world is just kind of gross when you really think about it. just makes sense for me to wash my hands before I expose minimonday to this dirty dirty world, hahahaha

Wetting hands first with liquid soap is what I do. Depending on the bathroom I use I sometimes wash my hands before and after.
I recently attended a parents evening at my smallest ones day care where they are very into hand hygiene as a way of preventing the spread of viruses. Apparently having the soap on your hands for at least 20 seconds before rinsing is key. Because science. They are also big on washing hands both on arrival and depature.

I definitely get my hands wet before getting the soap, then make sure to lather it up real good, not just wash it away. As for washing before using the bathroom, it's not necessary for me, but the mechanics are different. I would certainly wash if before handling my (usually) clean body with hands that have been out in the dirty world.

because science, hahahahaha
was actually thinking if putting liquid soap on dry hands is a thing and more effective than why not apply dry bar of soap on your hands before use? should be the same science, huh, okay maybe not
and i just had the thought of all the nasty hands that touch the lever for the soap to come down before i press it and shuddered a little
now i'm going to wash my hands

I wash my hands after doing my business. I actually put the soap in my left hand dry, wet the right hand and then lather together for 20 seconds or so.

Thank you gang for the input. I went with the cedar ones for the sake of space and for the good smell factor.

Good call, also helps with the moth factor.

I wet and then soap. And yes I wash my hands before on some occasions. If Im in NYC or a docs office then mos def.

I always wet the hands with water first then apply the soap, only wash after my bidness is done, and also after I dry my hands off I always keep the paper towel in my hand and use it to open the door on my way out so my bare hand isn't touching the handle. I figure all the work of washing your hands goes out the window as soon as you touch the door handle with bare hands.
A vast majority of the time a trash can will be located right by the door in any given restroom so after I've opened the door with paper towel in hand I use my foot to hold it open then toss the towel in the trash. If there's no trash can by the door I'll just keep it in hand and toss it in the next trash can I find.

I wet first. Also, I try to wash my hands before doing up my button fly. It just seems…respectful? I usually go either at home or at the office in a single bathroom, so it’s not a logistical issue.

Can you upload videos straight to the forum?
